I REALLY enjoyed this Rifftrax, this despite the longer pauses between jokes in the end. Just great great quality all around in just about every line that was said, and it perfectly fit the bad-yet-watchably-silly vibe of the film. Even one of my lines (the one where Alfred is glad to see that his drink holder is still working) made it in, so now it's a sentimental favorite too... Yes, the long pauses do keep this one from being perfect, but considering how small a time-frame the Riff Raff Theater guys had to work with (plus the fact that they were also prepping for their first live show), I think they did a fantastic job. Plus they now know what steps to avoid and take up, so the next fan-written one (should Rifftrax allow it) should be even better. And that, for me, is a scary (as in SCARY-GOOD) thought. ;D Bottom line - if you like the sample clip they provide... www.youtube.com/v/QbrkZSFZRto&rel=1...chances are you'll also enjoy this Rifftrax. HIGHLY recommended.

Mmmm, I don't know. I think there were great, great riffs but those end stretches started pissing me off. Primarily because -and yes this will sound egotistical- I wrote some cute lines there. I wrote many a bad line that deserved to be tossed I admit, but damn I had some goodies in those dead zones and -just so I don't sound totally egotistical ;D I've been reading funny lines from other riffers that would have filled those gaps nicely as well. The scene where they slide down the giant statue is almost totally silent and I've heard a number of quips from other contributors that were very funny and should have been used. The bit between Ivy and Gordon near the end is also wasted with so many gaps (and again, there were good quips that could have been used) One of the 2 guys who put this together said they’d rather have no riff than to put in a lame one. In theory I completely agree. Except I've read several excellent riffs that fit like a glove. Hell put something in there, it might not make YOU laugh like mad, but 80% of the rest of us might split a seem. Take a shot on those you were on the fence about, it would have been a hell of a lot better than silence (come on, my line about Gordon needing blow was better than empty air). Often hilarious but frustating at the end. I did get 4 quips in there, 2 spoken by Mike, with 1 each from Bill and Kevin and that was a great great honor. So despite my frustration with how the trax slowed to a crawl at the end, I will forever be grateful to the folks who put this together. I can't thank you enough for this. Mike, Bill and Kev delivered some of MY Jokes - That makes me giddy, I could kiss you both fiull on the lips! But, Uh, don't hold me to that.

Hmm, maybe it's good that I didn't have time to submit any.
I'd hate to be disappointed like that, but it would be awesome to hear one of them say something I wrote and find out if they said it at all like I imagined. I like to think that some of my riffs for the Matrix contest ages ago were comparable to what other people submitted, and I had most of them laid out in my mind with pitch-perfect imagination of how Mike or Kevin would have read them. I just wish I could find out whether that would have happened or not.

I was doing that too, hearing a certain voice as I wrote a riff and then hearing it for real was way to cool. I wasn't disappointed in having a riff I liked bypassed for another, I mean I knew that would happen and it was no big deal. We've learned on this board many many times that we don't all find the same things funny.
It was during those frequent spells where nothing was said near the end where it got disappointing. I knew they didn't have as much to chose from at the end as not everyone wrote a complete script. But after hearing other riffers talk about there work I know there were decent riffs they could have popped in there. Give it a shot, okay maye Chris, Joe and Alice didn't laugh at such and such a line, but Joe, Jill and Bob are over there in stitches. Put in a joke instead of the nothing. It might fly (I didn't laugh at everything they selected, that doesn't mean someone didn't or wont find it funny)

I just wish they'd picked a less notorious movie for the fan-riff. I would've preferred to've seen this one done by the Brains.

Did you fellow writers get your Batman posters yet?
Mine came in today, bent and with a hole in the middle of it. lol - Well it's a pretty ugly poster, probably one of the worst they've ever done. But that's okay, my name is listed in the credit. Cool!
You know if I had the means to do it, I take some of my riffs, some of the good ones I suggested using in my review, then ask ya'll for your best riffing on those dead spots.... and then make a version where I addded those riffs to the mastred movie/commentary DVD.
At least I wouldn't have to put up with those damned silences and it would be fun to pretend I'm a guest riffer.
Hmmm, Lincs brain starts to warm up.... this idea has merit.

That's a great idea, and I wish the entries were going on now, when I actually have some time. I don't have any way to mix video and audio or anything though.

I hate to say it, but I started to get nervous about this film just as I started watching it. All of a sudden it dawned on me their riffs will not be their own (no offense...but it's Mike, Kevin and Bill we're talking about here). I know that was the premise but it really started to sink in as I started watching...that may have affected my judgement while watching it. But there were some really funny moments nonetheless.
I have to ask those who participated. Were there more riffs on Uma's performances that were ultimately left out? It seems she got off easy.

There is a whole explanation to 'everything' on the RiffTrax board by one of the folks from RiffRaff Theater (the folks who put it all together and wrote the final script). Check it out... click here
