All this love I'm seeing for Weird Al gets me to wondering if you all prefer the Mike/Weird Al combination for Jurassic Park to a Mike/Kevin/Bill combo.

Weird Al if only because I enjoy hearing new riffers and what they can bring to it. The sample vid on youtube is hilarious!

Riff for riff, the MST3k trio would be the best, but I love having a guest I'm familiar with from time to time just to break things up. Since I think Weird Al is a great choice for a guest, I'm totally in favor of him and Mike on this one.

Not really a fair poll... since we've never heard Al riff before.
But for reasons I can't explain... I somehow have a gut feeling that he'll be a better guest riffer than Fred Willard.

Hearing Weird Al with Mike Nelson is some sort of crazy dream for me.
Weird Al's commentary track on UHF is classic, and he goes way back with Joel (who was almost in UHF). So to have him join with Mike isn't that much of a stretch. But it still fulfills a nerd fantasy for me.

Because that "nerd fantasy" comment sounds a little weird as it's over 90 minutes long. As for me, I like the idea of a Al and Mike pairing but I would have picked a different movie like Purple Rain or Moonwalker rather than one filled with CGI dinosaurs, John Wlliams music, Samuel L Jackson and Wayne Knight.

Personally I won't be getting this one. Weird Al has always been, to me, someone who's music is humorous, but otherwise, kind of grates on me.
I tried the sample, and it doesn't really seem to gel well with Mike's commentary style. I dunno. Maybe I'll try it someday when I've got a copy of the movie.

Oh I was pushing for Purple Rain, it was the first title that popped into my head, but Weird Al picked Jurassic Park.

As funny as Weird Al might be; the trio of Mike, Kevin, and Bill are pure gold.

Have you heard the commentary on UHF? Al can sustain 90 minutes of funny, trust me. And Jurassic Park isn't a random choice for Al, considering he's spoofed it before on his Alapalooza album.

I like the idea of a Al and Mike pairing but I would have picked a different movie like Purple Rain or Moonwalker. Me too. I like how Fred Willard & Doogie chose obscure(ish) movies that weren't on any "Most Requested Rifftrax" fan lists. I'd definitely prefer that they saved the biggies for Mike & the Boys. But I see from Bathtub's post above Oh I was pushing for Purple Rain, it was the first title that popped into my head, but Weird Al picked Jurassic Park. that it was all up to Weird Al.
