Even tho' I've barely scratched the Rifftrax surface , I jumped on this fresh from the email. I'd used the DiVx player for Mac just once already , for A Visit to Santa. I purchased this newest short , took the Mac update for the DiVx, remembered where the download manager was , and ! . . keep getting stuck at 1:17 !! First I realized I was trying to watch when the download wasn't complete, but that's no longer an issue. Anyone else getting stuck ?

Well now , after a restart, I'm unstuck . . . but it's sputtering and within another minute it appears to have gotten up to 4 or 5 seconds out of sync !
I guess making my dock hide is part of this DiVx players "charm" , but it was blacking-out my desktop before and now fails to. Seems like a whole bunch of buggy to me !
Am I alone in this , or should I ask around on the Rifftrax forum ? ( an alien landscape to me ).

get in touch with the help desk. they might be able to tell you what's up. i had no problems with the Santa short, apart from the fact that I had to watch it on the Divx player which is pretty rubbish!

Ok . . . That board's still new to me so , what exactly is "The Help Desk" ? I looked thru the help page which seems to be for the pre-registered , and posted a topic in "Help - Purchase / Download Issues". Is there another "help realm" I'm missing ?

Just watched Act your Age and it worked fine for me. Did you also get the separate commentary version. You do the usual Rifftrax sync with the movie on archives.org?

I happen to love DivX downloads. I download it, and I can watch it on my PC or burn to DVD. Of course, your DVD player must be DivX capable! So far, I have been very pleased with the two shorts and the "Plan 9 From Outer Space" Divx downloads.
For the Divx shorts, when you download them, you also get an MP3 version so you can find the short yourself and reauthor to your heart's content.
The short was pretty hilarious....... as most MST3K shorts were.
And yes, the "Purchase/Download Issues" is a great place to post comments if you have issues. The Mods and the "regular folks" are pretty quick to help anyone out. Heaven knows I've needed help before!

Most a' that goes right over my head. ( well, half of it does ) I'm merely using the DivX player , and updated to a new version for Mac just before downloading the .tix file which automatically opens in the player, but don't play smoothly !
( I'd just like a day or two w/out learning something new all the time !! )

Well Big Stoopid, I am ignorant of the MAC world, so I will leave it to the experts at the Rifftrax forums. Of course, you could just do the MP3 and download the short from the archive website as well.
I hope someone can help you sir.

DivX is a waste of data, but at least the price is right and they give you a seperate mp3 file. They still need to find a more tolerable, less DRM'd method of delivery.

Haha this was awesome. It easily stood beside my favorite MST3k shorts. Anytime Mike throws in a Barney Fife impression, I have to laugh on principle.
