Not to eventually release the Rifftrax shorts on a DVD. Absolute fools. Just wanted to put that out there.

I've got the 4 shorts and the Signal 30 demo re-authored to DVD. I could add at least 4 more before I fill up a DVD though...
The official word is that they might do it in the future, but they want to wait to get more released and they want to add bonus stuff too...to make it a worthwhile purchase for folks who already bought the shorts. They also want to do it properly with a good case/cover and menu's.
My guess is that it will be sometime before we see a DVD release of shorts.

That's a shame, because I think a compilation of these would sell pretty well and would be an excellent opportunity to plug the feature length Rifftrax. Slap a feature on there where the boys walk the viewer through the process and you could probably sell a few folks who have been hesitating because it seems too complicated.

I hope if they do make a compilation that they don't duck the audio quite so much as they have on the DRM-Free releases... I personally don't think ducking is necessary at all actually.

It certainly isn't necessary as much with the shorts. As the source audio is mono and fairly even in loudness. Its required more for recent movies that have quite a bit of difference between the action scenes and the talking scenes.

It's actually really distracting for me when I hear them do that on the previews, or, say, the Rifftrax player. For some reason, ducking the audio like that makes it feel kind of... faked.

It sounds okay to me. But I use Goldwave to do the same thing when I make my own Rifftrax DVDs, so I'm used to it.
