"Your Love" by the Outfield. That's a good one. There's a lot of classic ones too, such as "Duke of Earl" by Gene Chandler. Yep. Servo He was pretty big. He had "Groovy Situation" (used on Anchorman), as well.

C.W. McCall - ConvoyI know it's a sucky song, but I love it for some reason. I have to say I agree with you DQ, it is a sucky song.

Bittersweet Symphony-The Verve Sadly, they were a one-hit wonder in this country. Most Americans are probably more familiar with The Verve Pipe than The Verve. LOL

I forgot about a couple of my favorites Iron Butterfly - "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and Modern English - "I Melt with You".

I don't really buy into the novelty of one-hit wonders, given that the "hits" are nothing more than a result of record company payola towards radio stations and MTV (do they even play videos anymore?).

How about all those European artists that are "One Hit Wonders" over here but in fact end up releasing compilations in the US which include their international hits that we missed?

Probably a valid point. Some were lucky enough to hear more stuff locally. In Los Angeles we had (have) a great "New Music" station in KROQ, so I can name a few titles off the top of my head, like "Enola Gay" by OMD.

Bittersweet Symphony-The Verve Sadly, they were a one-hit wonder in this country. Most Americans are probably more familiar with The Verve Pipe than The Verve. LOL i'm glad someone mentioned something @ them...i never considered them a one hit wonder...i guess it's because i've liked them for years and i despise Nike...i just ignore that whole thing. while that IS a phenomenal song...i really like their first 2 albums...i alctually got to see them...ohhh god..i think it was @ Lollapalooza 2...they played 2nd stage..great show! My fave song by them is probably "blue". simply for the time in my life when i heard it..... and there were some great songs mentioned on this little thread (prob why i needed to resurrecct and sexorcise my demons)... Wall of Voodoo--------Mexican Radio this song is stuck in myhead on a weekly basis. I LOVE IT. all i have is the Celtic Frost cover...which does nothing compared to original. some great 80's songs...the "i might like you better if we slept together".......the Waitresses song...i have this bizaaro love of all things new-wave/alt in the 80's...i can't believe no one has mentioned Spandau Ballet...and i'm a huge fan of 99 luft balloons!! the 7seconds version is great too!..the Motels..omg..i could go on and on... heh i just read that Sam likes Mexican Radio too....well how friggin fitting... maybe we can wear Devo hats while kissing. how quaint...hahaha
