So, considering I'm leaving here in about 20 minutes to go see Elton John (for the second time), I was just wondering, any concerts any of you guys out there are looking forward to seeing this summer? Or, concert experiences past that you'd like to share?

I saw the Butthole Surfers at Cat's Cradle (a small club) years ago. It was really wild. When they set the cymbals on fire with lighter fluid I thought they would burn the place down. Great show.
Oh to be young again...

I've got The Police and Genesis on my summer docket.
I can't decide which I'm more excited about.

Oh so many memories. I'll have to think about it and add later. Hey, you know what? Maybe we need a music sub-board. I am such a visionary.

I really wanted to see Roger Waters in St. Louis on his last tour. I don't really like him as a person, but it supposedly featured a lot of great material from the "classic" Pink Floyd years, with great energy and production values for the concerts. I've never actually been to a real concert, by the way.

Nothing planned in the future. Too expensive really. I do like to go to the local clubs and watch bands (3 bands for $5 cover)
The last one I went to was Avril Lavigne in Cincinnati, it was a great show but I felt real old standing there with screaming 13 year olds all around me. (Thankfully my ex was there)
Before that, Simon and Garfunkel in Atlanta, another great great show.
My favorite concerts, Devo and Alice Cooper, 100% pure theatrical fun.
My first concert was the Knack, it was a blast as well.
Judas Priest was good, but I have no memory of Pat Benatar and the Bangles (I know I went, but they didn't leave an impression. weird hu)

The first concert I went to was Neil Young in 1873. But Linda Ronstadt was the opening act so I guess she was my first. I remember it pretty well, a fine show.

Oh to be young again... Man, that's cool. They were bizarre and brilliant. My first concert was 1977, Jackson Browne, when he was touring for Running on Empty. A few of my most memorable have been Mudhoney, Talking Heads, and Neil Young, with The Pretenders opening. Chrissie Hynde covered Neil's "The Loner." I almost came...over the railing. ;D All 6 times I've seen Richard Thompson have been great, and every Ween show is amazing. Most recently, Drive-By Truckers was one of those shows I never wanted to end. That being said, there ain't poopie touring this year I want to see.

Roxy Music. Truly wonderful.
Bonnie Raitt and Randy Newman.
Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band and Ry Cooder.
Betty Carter.

Oh to be young again... I saw them once with Pearl Jam in 1997. Awesome show. Gabby kept shooting off a shotgun (with blanks) into the audience. Otherwise, one of the coolest shows I ever saw was in Germany, even though I didn't expect it to be all that good. Beck opened right after Loser came out, and no one over there had a clue who he was. I thought he was pretty damn amazing. (And when a few people started cheering when Loser started, he sat down and prayed. Really.) Then Alanis came out and, surprisingly (to me at least), gave a really good live show. Her drummer was frickin' amazing. Then Neil Young came out. Decent. But he's old. And there are only so many two-note 15-minute long guitar solos I can stomach, no matter how drunk I am. Still, great show.

Goodness! The EJ concert was so damn great. He played everything I wanted. "Mona Lisas and Madhatters", "I Feel Like A Bullet" and, the opening song, was "Madman Across the Water"! So, so, so, so, so, awesome! I can't even explain!

I'm going to see Arcade Fire in a few weeks, which I am quite excited about.
As far as concerts I've been to, the most memorable was Mudhoney/The Stooges at the Bumbershoot Festival in '05. It was super awesome!
And, finally, for those of you that have seen the Butthole Surfers, my jealousy is immense.
