Here's lead singer of The Struts, Luke Spiller, doing a great job covering a Queen song. (Keep Yourself Alive).
If Freddie Mercury were going to re-incarnate, this is the guy he'd do it in. The only thing I didn't like was that he said "all you people" for every verse.

I also found these guys in the last year or two. Fun band with a fun philosophy. You can see in their videos that they draw quite a varied crowd. You see teenagers and people in their early 20s to people who are clearly in their 50s or 60s. They encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the show.
And the music rocks, gotta admit.
This is where I first heard them. After the commercial, I had to find out who did the song. Glad I did. The moment at about 29 second into the video, where Buster Douglas connects with a right uppercut to Mike Tyson just as Spiller sings "I don't fear you!" gave me chills.

There's quite a few videos of live concert footage of them on YouTube, something people who enjoyed these last few videos that were put up should definitely check out. Also: they've put up a series called "Sunday Service". There's 8 videos of them doing acoustic versions of their songs, each from their own places while in quarantine, with footage of some concerts in the videos as well and also segments of them just being big goofballs. I would recommend people give them a watch. They look like a fun band.
There's whole concert videos of them in Paris, and Los Angeles and their Lallapallooza (however you spell it) segments from a few different years. I've been binge watching them, I think they're really good.
Spiller really embodies Freddie much better than (blech) Adam Lambert. Adam has a good voice, but not for Queen songs. Not only does Spiller sound like Mercury on some songs, a few of The Struts' songs actually sound like something Queen would be doing back in the day. (Check out One Night Only). The person who designed Freddie's clothes for shows also designs Luke's outfits.
Luke is kind of like a blend of Freddie Mercury and Tim Curry with a hint of Mick Jagger and a slight drop of Tom Petty (just looks, I mean, at certain angles for Tom, the others are their attitudes also).
One of my fave songs is Kiss This.
I really like them.

He tried to emulate Mercury, Jagger, Michael Jackson, and my favorite: late AC/DC front man Bon Scott. I'm a huge Scott fan, and hearing that this kid is a fan impresses me and only makes me like him more. I also read that older fans have stated "they make me feel young" as one of the reasons they like them. I can see that. It all just looks fun and loose. Kiss This is outstanding.

^^^^ He's even got a little George Michael going on in that song. He's like a combo of every good frontman.

You know you're a bad ass when Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, James Burton, Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther and Steven Solesare in your back up band. While Bonnie Raitt Jennifer Warnes & K.D. Lang are your backup singers... What a Legend!!!

Watching The Umbrella Academy got me listening to this again. The original German version is cool, but I like this English version for the "Earth below us" parts. It has a more haunting quality to it, the German version has too many syllables or something.

Their harmonies are INSANE. (Edit: Even though I don't like this song). I know who they are. It's Hanson.

An underrated (and underplayed) little Monkees gem.

There's a "new" song of the Beatles on their YouTube channel if anyone's interested. It's called "Now and Then" and it is a fixed up version of a demo they did back in the day, and the three remaining tried to work on it in 1994 when George was still alive. I guess the technology wasn't good enough to isolate John's voice and clean it up back then as they are able to do now.
There's a documentary on how it was done, also. I didn't watch that.
It's an okay song. Kind of boring. Wish there had been more to it and it had been a more lively song, but I'm sure Beatles fans will just be happy with the fact that they get that last one from all four guys.
