I like some jazz, but it's mainly the jazz that everybody knows: Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, etc...
I'm not as big on blues. A lot of my friends are really into blues but a lot of it just never really grabs me. Actually, it's recorded blues that never grabs me. Live blues can be great.

I have quite a few Mosaic Records boxed sets.
VERY much into jazz. Just discovered Lee Wiley. (Vocal)
Saw Betty Carter in the 80s at a small club in Chicago. Amazing.
I've been into jazz since high school some [AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE TYPING] years ago.
Have way too much Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Anita O'Day, Ella, Duke, Miles, Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz . . . just way too much.

I picked up a CD by Watermelon Slim and the Workers recently. That's some excellent modern blues. They may be the ugliest people ever assembled for a photo shoot, but they can wail like nobody else. Give them a try if you can.

Do roadhouse blues and jump blues count? Although I like more traditional blues as well.

Count me in as a pretty big Chicago blues fan..and a 'west coast' jazz fan.
I went through a period in my late teens early twenties when I bought quite a few Mobile Fidelity gold discs...they put out a lot of classic blues/jazz records (Chess, Blue Note, Atlantic).
One of my all time favorite records is Muddy Waters "Folk Singer"..so under-stated.
That line also introduced me to countless jazz artists, don't want to make a list..but some records that I always loved were "Ella & Louis Again", "Very Tall" (Oscar Peterson), all of the Coltrane releases..if I start listing, I'd be here another 15 minutes.
I mentioned the 'west coast' sound, I like the Brubeck Quartet, Chet Baker, et al.
