So what should I pay them to download it?

I'd pay them what you feel is appropriate and can afford. I'm not a Radiohead fan, but I do respect them trying to do their own sales. Considering that hardcopies of their new release is going to cost a tidy sum (especially since it's imported, yes?), the downloading option makes sense.
As long as the songs are DRM-free (I assume they are) and are using a high-bitrate encoding (I can't tell from the site) I'd say anywhere from $1.00 - $2.00 a song is a fair price.
They really shouldn't expect to "make" a lot of money via the album release, however (the real money is made in live shows/tours). If they break even, or make a bit, they really should consider it a success...

I've done some checking about this net thingy all the kids seem to be talking about and it's really up to you. Radiohead appear to haveno problem with you paying nothing for the download. This appears to have been done to stop the album leaking and to get the wind up the record industry.

I pre-ordered it for £5.00 ($10.00). Just felt I should pay something for it. Can't wait for next Wednesday now!

Oh, and "cell phone number required"? I think not. They probably just pop round your house and point and laugh at the bloke who paid $250 for an album they could have gotten for free. I was a bit dubious about the phone number too, but I've been signed up to the mailing list for a couple of years and nothing ever happens with it, plus you could probably just put in a fake number! The whole things being run directly by Radiohead so no big corporation's getting your details by the looks of it.

If enough people feel the same, and pay accordingly, it should be a success. On a similar note, I read that Robert Smith/The Cure has a new double album coming out, but it's going to be priced as if it was a single disc. So Kudos to Robert for doing that.

I ended up just putting "(none)" in for the cell phone number. I really didn't want Thom Yorke calling me up at odd hours.

Enter a negative value so the band pays you for listening!
