Weren't the Smiths supposed to be eligible this year? Huge omission if so.
Still, you'll never get Morrissey to appear on stage with Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke. (Though he might show up if it was just him and Johnny Marr.)

That's like Jethro Tull beating Metallica in a contest for "Hard Rock Performance". So ridiculously laughable that it'd never happen in real life, right? What a bunch of whiners. That Grammy was for omission of their great albums of the 70's like Thick as a Brick. Metallica was a bunch of crybabies then as now .Having Madonna is absolutely crap as is the R@R HOF. Great idea but executed badly.

What?I would have assumed that Rush were inducted into the RnRHoF a long time ago... yet complete trash like Madonna (who is not even a rock artist) gets in? Who's next, Tiffany? Debbie Gibson? Britney Spears? I never pay attention to this crap because of situations just like this.

...And this is different then any other RandRHOF induction because??
They hardly ever induct any real rock and roll bands, especially main stream. However if you're a folksy spoken word accordionist who put out one record in the 60's , you're automatically inducted. Bleck, I could care less about who they induct.

But Madonna probably earned her way into the R&RHoF.
As a groupie...

The only thing Madonna has earned is a swift kick to the chin.

You know, every Hall of Fame seems to be such a joke that it's almost pointless to argue any of them.

Apparently since my area code is 440 I get a $4 discount to the R&R hall o' fame... not that it really matters. Just saw it on the news though and thought, "Hey. That's almost useless."

Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has no credibility whatsover. It's merely a marketing tool. If Deep Purple (and Rush) are not in it, it isn't a hall of fame.

I don't know. They really whiffed on the progressive rock of the '70s. Even if they're not your thing, Yes, Rush, King Crimson, and Genesis sold millions & millions of albums, and had an amazingly far-reaching influence on rock & roll. So Rush isn't in, but Madonna is? That's like Jethro Tull beating Metallica in a contest for "Hard Rock Performance". So ridiculously laughable that it'd never happen in real life, right? I agree. And this is coming from a fan of the 60's progressive rockers such as Procol Harum and the Moody Blues.

The RnRHoF should be strictly for RnR bands and artists that influenced such bands. I don't agree with putting DJ's and such in there. I agree that there should be a separate HoF for Pop.
