oh yeah, i know that one well. in fact, servo sings a line or two from it in.... the deadly bees, i think. when the dog dies. i hate that song, because that is my name and when i was a kid that was what people would think when they met me - oh yeah, shannon - like that dead dog in the song, right? the song that makes me leak ocular fluid is unchained melody, sung in italian. i have this cd of the group amici forever, and it's on there. the standard version of the song doesn't have the same affect on me, but the italian version, for some reason, gets me every time. i don't listen to it very often.

Jeff Buckley's rendition of "Hallelujah" is top of the pile. Also "Everybody Hurts" By REM.
Some lesser known songs, but just as moving:
Hoppipola by Sigur Ros Collapse the Light In To Earth by Porcupine Tree Some Are White Light by Caspian The Canyon Behind Her by dredg
The last song is particularly moving, as the last song on the simple stunning album, El Cielo.

Has anyone even mentioned REM's Everybody Hurts? I don't see how that song cannot be listed here.

'The Long and Winding Road' by The Beatles always gets me. It either makes me very depressed or makes me right out bawl. I've read that Robert Palmer recorded a version and me being a hardcore Palmerholic... I don't know if I can listen to it.
'There's A Place For Us' by Phil Collins off of his 'Both Sides' album always seems to get me sad at the end. 'Why Can't It Wait 'Till Morning' on the 'Hello, I Must Be Going!' album used to get to me, too.
For some odd reason both Mariah Carey's 'Music Box' and 'Butterfly' albums put me into a deep depression, especially when it comes to the cheapo ballads. Maybe I get depressed over the fact that both albums are so mediocre and overrated, I don't know.
Cliche, but Godly and Creme's 'Cry' is a good one to put anyone in a saddened mood.

Okay, I know how it sounds but "Wind Beneath My Wings" breaks me up. But before you flame me hear me out! They sang it at my grandma's funeral so it reminds me of a sad time.
