Yes, Trace too ! That's HUGE. Just goes to show you, people can justify where they are and what they are doing... even make it sound like the past is the past... but ya just never know what the future holds.
I really took the loss of Trace hard after Season 7. To the point where I probably never gave Bill a fair shake. I've learned to enjoy Bill since then, but to have Trace back along with Joel and Josh (holy cow), this is just like Christmas!

I think the key point is that they've obtained licenses which means that they will be printing DVDs, which is already a step above what Rifftrax have been doing... now if it's funny, there will be two steps.

Wow! I mean, really wow. What is going on here? Cool projects are just crawling out of the woodwork, and I'm darn excited about it. Frankly, I'm not wild about Rifftrax/Film Crew going head-to-head with Cinematic Titanic. I think they would do well to combine their forces. Maybe I just don't like the idea of these groups being "competitors" rather than "collaborators." Still - Joel? Trace? Mary Jo? Josh?? There's no way I'm not supporting this outfit, and I'm a big fan of Rifftrax. My attitude as well. I'm not going to stop buying Rifftrax. Mike's early riffs for Legend Films, The Film Crew and Rifftrax are all slightly different, but I enjoy them all. I have room for all twists on this concept. Bring it on! I also share the quivering in ecstacy of this news. It's been like living on bread and water for years trying to eek out the last bits of nourishment then, suddenly, THANKSGIVING FEAST!

Let the civil war begin; everybody pick a side and a uniform. We've got Union blue, Confederate gray, and British red. The battle of Film Crew VS Cinematic Titanic VS MST3K.com will start in an hour. Lunch will be provided.

I think that Rifftrax and The Film Crew more or less showed Joel that there is still a huge market in this.

This is so freaking awesome and the most pleasant surprise of all is that Joel is back! I was hoping maybe Trace and Josh would be getting together with MJ for a new project, but I never dreamed of something like this with Joel and Frank too. This is incredible.
I don't know, I'm just happy!

Courtesy Sat. News: Cinematic Titanic
So what is Cinematic Titanic? In a nutshell, Joel and the gang have secured the rights to 12 bad, MST-quality films. They will all be writing and performing new riffs, with silhouettes. The plan is to offer downloadable and burnable DVDs through the site -- sort of one-stop shopping.
We're told that while there will be an overall premise to the show, there won't be many "host segments" or the like. And the silhouette won't be of people in theater seats. Instead, it will consist of people up on scaffolding on the side of the screen...as seen in the Cinematic Titanic logo.
The date and title of the first release have yet to be announced, but you can be the first to recieve the news by signing up for the Cinematic Titanic newsletter. Just visit www.cinematictitanic.com for more information.

Rifftrax, Film Crew and now this. Suddenly I'm glad I got into MST3K so late, so that I didn't have to wait as long as you guys for this stuff.
