My wife hates it when I "play" what if's...
But here's one that will really bake your noodle:
What if Cinematic Titanic AND RiffTrax riffed on the same movie?
Would our universe implode? Would pigs fly?...please speculate...
Personally I doubt it will happen, but there is a chance. It would have to be the type of thing where each party decided to do it at the same time, and because the names of the movies aren't usually released 'till close to release date, then there is a chance they could be the same!

I'd be like having two kinds of chocolate chips cookies... Both yummy, but different!

the more the merrier i say. it would be interesting, to see if some of the jokes are the same, and see the different approaches to the movie. i dont see a negative in it.

It think it would be really cool if they both collaborated for a movie or so.

That would be pretty cool, but even cooler if they collaborated, like Krista said.
Even if they didn't, I think someone would make a mix of the movie featuring the best of the riffs from both troupes.

Eventually I would invest in the technology needed to mix down my own copy of it. Or, I guess you could mix the CT track to the left channel and the RT one to the right channel.

I doubt this would ever happen. From what we've seen out of Rifftrax thus far, they're going for newer movies for the most part with a few older movies. However bad these movies may be, it would cost an arm and a leg to acquire the rights for them. CT, on the other hand, seems to be going the MST3k route, which is to say old, crappy movies that rights can be obtained for. This means that (hopefully) they'll be released on DVD (or at the least, a downloadable copy of the TS_video files) and we won't have to fumble around with synching up the Rifftrax.

I agree that Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax doing the same movie is unlikely. However if The Film Crew DVD series continues, then that DVD project and Joel's DVD project run a greater risk of riffing on the same films. Especially since Joel doesn't really try to keep in touch with Team Mike.

I think it's noteworthy too that Joel has both Frank and Mary Jo who were in charge of finding the turkeys during their MST years. They were both great and finding old, rare, weird, wonderful stuff. Which personally I prefer.

I think it would be great if the Film Crew and Cinematic Titanic both did the same flick. I'd love to see what each came up with. I really don't think we will be seeing any more Film Crew releases. I hope I'm wrong.
