So his interview is linked up off cinematic titanic's page now. I like that he compared himself to a drummer in a local rock band that got big. Interesting interview. As for the news on the homepage, all the e-mail club stuff sounds great, and I'm really glad they announced the formats it will be available in. I'll be grabbing a DVD.

Friend?
Interesting to hear that they're going to be working with a variety of formats, and that they'll be polling us for popular choices and other things. I'm quite curious about the Flash/iTunes version. Perhaps I'll have something to watch on my flight home for Christmas!
Josh appears to have stolen Joel's goatee (and spelling). I keep using the word but it's an interesting little review! Dang that guy started young. I like the WKRP In Cincinnati influence, that was one of my parents' favorite shows and what I've seen of it is great. I also like the quip about Mike.

I hope they do some sort of twofer download & DVD deal so people who want to see episodes ASAP, also want a hardcopy but don't own a burner.
And who was conducting that interview? All signs point to Joel or Trace , except for the fact that Josh refers to them both in a decidedly third person way. Probably not worth losing sleep over.

He talks about turning Beeper into Servo in one of the questions: Anyway, I can't wait to see the first movie, "name of film omitted"!

Googling the title of the film didn't give much info.

Yeah, it's definitely Joel conducting the interview. When Josh refers to Joel, he's talking about Joel Robinson the character, not Joel Hodgson the real person.
Anywho, it was neat learning a little bit about Josh's background and family. He sounds like a pretty cool person.
I was immensely disappointed that Joel didn't come up with any new words in this entry, though "I-pod" comes close. ;D (I know what an iPod is, obviously, I've just never seen it written like that, so I found that amusing.)
Also, I think we should speculate wildly as to the content of the little "Christmas Present" mentioned. It's supposed to be a short holiday film...
So, uh... [Crow]Is it December 10th yet? ...It HAS to be December 10th now![/Crow] D:

So Josh was the one who went out and found/hired Mike Nelson? So Josh and Mike overlapped for only the 13 episodes of season 1? I guess I thought Mike was kicking around during KTMA too, though not really involved as they weren't "writing" yet. Just kicking around as a friend or like-minded cohort in this endeavor. I'm just confused because in some interview with Frank a while back, Frank almost made it sound like he found Mike (he talked about liking him and Bridget in the comedy scene and wanting to associate with them more). Or maybe that was actually reversed then, since Frank came after season 1, maybe it was Mike who instigated bringing Frank in. Or perhaps I'm remembering it all wrong. But I definitely remember the part of the interview with Frank and Mike and Bridget, cuz I visualized the three of them in this trendy little comedy club with dim red lighting at a small table sipping cocktails ;D
So Josh says he left because of all the nuances associated with signing a deal with the Comedy Channel (likening it to a local band signing with a major label), yet he left and got involved with shows that were already substantially more than established than mst3k. The drummer who quits the local band does so because he likes things the way they are, or because he doesn't want to be involved with the Man or the System...*not* to go off and join a bigger better band that's already in the commercial mix. I dunno, but it's just one example in the interview where it felt to me like he was hedging questions. I wish there were more length and more details, but oh well.

Is anybody getting emails yet? I've subscribed two email accounts twice, and I'm still not getting any emails. Both accounts are with Yahoo, which might be the problem, I dunno. And the bulk mail thingy was turned off on one of the accounts, so it's not that.

I want a hardcopy, but I also want to see it the day it comes out!! Although, the Holdiay Special may tide me over to wait for the DVD. Man, I can't WAIT to see [name of film omitted]! It really does sound terrible. ;D

Very cool interview. Glad to finally know more about Josh "J. Elvis".
I'm getting more excited about this every day. For some reason, the website has a very "grass roots" style and appeal, as one would expect from the creator of our favorite cowtown puppet show.
I've decided. This will be great. I can't keep my expectations low any more. I've got that old feeling back, and it simply has to stay.

Is "Friend?" a reference to Frankenstein?

Is "Friend?" a reference to Frankenstein? That's what immediately came to mind for me! Complete with deep rumbly voice and an image of whoever took that photo trying to coax him out of that little house. While I haven't seen much of Season 1 or anything to really get a 'feel' for him, I've always been a bit impressed by Josh. It's not everybody who gets a fairly consistent career going from the age of 15 on!
