Why does this whole ordeal keep making me think of Watergate? RAD is our Deep Throat who can only confirm or deny and point us (Woodwards and Bernsteins) in general directions. RAD, if you don't reply within 10 posts I'm going to assume that.... Miss Interoceter, LOL... You're right, this seems to be devolving into a dark hall of smoke and mirrors. So, to that end, (here RAD leans towards you in the underground parking garage where we've both agreed to meet, the shadows moving across his angular features as he hoarsely whispers) 'It isn't any of the movies that have been suggested so far.' "In fact, it's..." *shot rings out*

This isn't one of Joel's home movies, is it? When I saw that station wagon and the familiarity of the street it was on, I thought for sure that Joel and co. and somehow gotten hold of one of my family's old home movies. Believe me, no amount of riffing could ease the horror that would be subjected upon any poor soul who had the misfortune of watching our semi-dysfunctional holiday celebrations.

"In fact, it's..." *shot rings out* RAD is stretched out on the cold concrete, a trickle of blood tracing a line from the corner of his mouth. He's struggling to draw breath as the echo of the shot fades. He clutches CaptainHygiene's sleeve, and hoarsely whispers; 'There....are....three...words in the...title...of the.....movie...' 'The...first...word...can be found..here... users.lycaeum.org/~sputnik/Ludlow/Texts/Opium/prelim.html...' '...the....second...here users.lycaeum.org/~sputnik/Ludlow/Texts/Opium/pleasure.html'and...' cough cough, ' the....last word......here... users.lycaeum.org/~sputnik/Ludlow/Texts/Opium/pains.htmlAt this point, RAD draws his last rattling breath, and his head lolls back lifelessly.

Ohhhh! Well why didn't you just say so! *Tires squeal in the distance. Interoceter turns at the sound. Turns back to speak and RAD is gone!*

Rad, the Gentleman rebel!
If you're feeling so defiant, why not just skip the subtle hints and come out with it? An e-mail, a private message, perhaps...

I wouldn't read that much into it. It just seems like a cute little joke to me, not something pathetic or embarrassing. I'm pretty sure that he'd have a great reaction to CT even if he made a single short announcement that he and the other folks were reuniting, without having the website or interviews.

I wouldn't read that much into it. I wouldn't either. I think Joel has a WAY better handle on promotion than say... Mr. Mallon.

I know people may disagree with me, fine if that's the case, but the whole thing felt somewhat insecure. I know Joel has been building this whole things up, why not? (The constant reminder that this is the ORIGINAL CAST, new posts and pictures almost every week, the interview with ILM, the promise of all multiple releases for different players, ect.) For mts3k fans, this is HUGE! But the whole thing with the hi-tech "teleconferencing" looked like it was just another thing to get people's attention. First time I saw it I thought, "Oh, um, okay. They want us to see that they're using fancy methods in the writing process. This should matter to us?" When I read people's reactions to it at first, they were impressed, surprised, thought it was really cool, seeing that familiar writing process meeting the "21st Century." Now, he admits, it was just a little experiment. It seems to me Joel is trying a little too hard to get people excited. He could have told people right of the bat, saying it was a little tease maybe, I don't know. It just seemed a kind of pathetic thing to do, trying to impress everybody, and he doesn't even need to. If I were him, I'd be sinking into my chair a little bit with embarrassment. Hmmm... mind if I weigh in here? Joel was only trying to show that all five members are working in tandem on this project. I know first-hand the behind-the-scenes collaboration that has taken place to produce this offering. If someone is offended because there's not a high-tech satellite link between LA, Austin, and Minneapolis that pulled all of this together, I just am not that sympathetic. Believe me, it would have been easier should that technology have been available. As it was, you've had 5 of the Brains from far-away places with strange-sounding-names working in collaboration to bring you this product. If you're offended because a photo meant to represent this fact was doctored...well....
