This is so ridiculously exciting that I can hardly function! Anyway, as a fan of bad low-budget horror movies, especially ones of the 70s/80s grindhouse era, I couldn't be more excited about this movie choice. I always loved it when MST would do these types of flicks. Perhaps my longing to see a MSTed version of "Slaughter High" may come to fruition one day! Love that picture-- everyone looks great and I'm delighted to see them all standing together, though I don't have a clue what a time tube is. PS- I'm new to this board so I'm sorry if I come off sounding like a big lame.

I'm disappointed. The DVD Drive-In description sounds sleazy and gross. That's a legitimate genre for riffing, don't get me wrong. But it's about my least favorite. I agree. This is not my kind of movie at all. I'd much rather see, well, most anything.

Cheezy, bad horror movies are my FAVORITE, so this choice exceeds all my wildest expectations. Maybe they can do the director's "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" next. Dracula, with an afro and the monster with a cather's mitt face. That would be great, I have it on VHS! Frankenstein looks like the stay puft marshmellow man on crack in that one. Plus both Lon Cheney Jr.(!) and J. Carrol Naish's last roles in that one.

though I don't have a clue what a time tube is. It's a time capsule. Yup!

That's awesome! Thanks-- now I officially know what a time tube is. Though now that I think about it, I should have been able to guess. Dur.

It's the time capsule from the '38 World's Fair to be exact. I think that graphic was associated with their email survey somehow, right? Over in the speculation thread, underbird posted a link that included the original source for some of the other graphics they've 'hidden' for people on the mailing list: www.archive.org/details/timecapsulecups00westrichwhich includes a link to the source for the graphic mrtorso posted www.archive.org/details/storyofwestingho00pendrich. Note that all they did was add the logo and change the payload label. Guess somebody opened the capsule about 4930 years early to stick in those DVDs. In a convoluted note, the '38 fair was also the source of the name of Futurama, the other sci-fi comedy series that just got a second life on DVD.

Not sure I've ever seen this one. I'm not up on horror movies especially from the 70's. I'm not a fan, BUT this could change all that. Hope this is the start of something big.

I think its a great target for the initial CT effort. Check out BadMovies.org and under B-Movie Reviews (check under B) you can find "Brides of Blood" which was made by the same outfit I believe. Very colorful screenshots anyway...

I think its a great target for the initial CT effort. So do I, but I can't help feeling a bit of a let-down, considering they were kind of hyping the "mystery movie" with an almost at-the-boiling-point kind of excitement...don't get me wrong, I think it's a great choice, and I can't wait to see it, but to me this choice is a typical movie that deserves the riff treatment, not an exceptional one (which they kind of made it seem). Still, if they were able to secure the rights for a home release, I'm all for it...for as much as I was excited to see RiffTrax/SW:HS announcement, a lot of people just aren't going to be able to enjoy it.

But isn't having a "typical" dated, riff-deserving movie what everyone wanted after Rifftrax started doing pretty much only recent films?
