I think what he's trying to say is after speculated the likes of The Holiday Special or Santa Claus and the Ice Cream Bunny, and them drawing comparisons to Manos and SCCTM this was a let down. I don't know if I agree yet. I'm gonna have to see if the movie does live up to expectations. I think many were expecting a more well known movie among the B-Movie aficianado community, but this isn't particularly well known nor the crew. However that gives it even more reason to likely be one of the worst.

Gotcha. I figured ones like the Ice Cream Bunny were good ideas but just fruitless speculation, so I kinda figured something less well-known would be chosen.

Regardless, at some point they need to do Ice Cream Bunny, if rights can be gotten. (If I'd made that movie, I'd take any opportunity to make a little money off it.) It might be well known round these parts, but I guarntee no one else knows about it.

Fans of the agony booth know it, and I've seen many other bad movie sites review it. Brain of Blood only had a few reviews to it in the IMDb section.

Maybe RAD can infiltrate CT headquarters and replace the screener copies of the next movie with the Ice Cream Bunny.

However that gives it even more reason to likely be one of the worst. You've summed it up well. Perhaps I misread their intent on the CT postings, but to it did seem like they were hinting that the movie was going to be a real surprise...like a 'you won't believe what we got' kind of excitement, or at least something well-known. But, as I said, perhaps I misread their intent. Still, it's no biggie, I'm happy it's coming and will enjoy watching it! But isn't having a "typical" dated, riff-deserving movie what everyone wanted after Rifftrax started doing pretty much only recent films? Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy they are doing a film more along the lines of the classic MST fare. I'm happy for the non-recent movie "break" in riffing. It was just, well, you can see what I wrote above...

Here's a link to The Agony Booth recap of Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. I warn you though, Albert's reviews are mythically long. www.agonybooth.com/santa_bunny/

Try him before spending any of your good money. I'm convinced, though, that Dr. Z is some kind of real life mad scientist, and this is his attempt to rule the world.

Thanks for the link, I actually found The Agony Booth via searching the title. It IS a rather lengthy review, isn't it? All I have to say is that some movies may be just too awful to watch, even whilst being riffed. I suspect that the production "values" of this one may exclude it from consideration. But then, I haven't seen it yet, so...

I find it comparable to Manos in that respect. I'm pretty sure that it might just well be the worst movie I've seen, but I do find it watchable.
