Huh I guess I just assumed it would be this week?

I just reread Joel's last message and got a little worried. First, the title is Happy Holidays. That implies we won't be hearing from him again until January. Also, he says "when we return to L. A. we will begin working on more of the elements of the pilot." When we return we will begin working. I don't want to be a downer on this, but somebody reassure me, quick! I really don't see how there could be much of a hold-up. If Joel and the others operate as they did during their MST3K tenure, then putting this first episode together shouldn't be an issue. Joel era eps of MST3K had flubbed lines kept in, so I doubt they're going to take too long filming the shadowrama or any host segment sequences. They've already got the riffs written out for Brain of Blood as evidenced by the live performance they've already made. I guess it's a matter of getting everybody together again for another shoot, and when that happens, the show should be done.

The point is though they don't have to operate like they did during their MST3K days. No network is putting up the $$$. Joel seems to be the big cheese so no suits giving them notes or anything. They can take the time to get it right. I just reread Joel's last message and got a little worried. First, the title is Happy Holidays. That implies we won't be hearing from him again until January. Joel's full statement at one point is :
When we return to L.A. we will begin working on more of the elements for the pilot. Obviously, this means that there will be slight delay on the delivery date.
I can't imagine he'd call a month " a slight delay"
mmmh

Huh I guess I just assumed it would be this week? That's what I assumed too, although even if they're back at it this week, editing it together plus other post-production and then getting it out to eztakes may take another week. I'm still hoping for a release before Xmas. I'm also hoping that out of guilt, Joel will start updating the site more than once a week. ;D Hasn't happend yet though.

Ghosts of the MST3K ROM are begining to echo....
Nah, I'm sure it will be OK. But I concur with your assesment that it's going to be January before we see the show.
I hope to god I'm wrong about that.

Yeah I hope not, but obviously the quickly upcoming holiday might slow production down.

That's what I was thinking. With some people not living in LA and the holidays approaching I could see them waiting until after the 1st, unless they have very well in mind what the changes they wanted to make are, and whether they're big or small changes. And where does this put the free holiday short release?

I didn't read it as making changes, I read it as adding additional material... I stand by my prediction for a pre-Christmas release.

Eh, I don't have much spare $$$ at the moment, so I'm cool with the delay. And I have to echo the rest of you; that set rocks.

From a business standpoint, I'm sure they want to get it out before Xmas. More sales from Xmas present shopping, plus some people over-spend at Xmas and are broke for a couple months afterward.

It IS huge. And Green. Are they watching The Green Slime? You know, I knew the movies would be boring, but a full screen of plain green? YAAAAaaaan!

It IS huge. And Green. Are they watching The Green Slime? And my mind is officially 'blown' again. Do you know how cool that would be?!?! An official release in some form of something we've never been able to have. No it's not quite the same, but man would it be close. (And yeah, I do realize it's just a green screen, but the thought of at some point them doing The Green Slime... Wow.)
