Now before you go, 'The Movie is crap so who cares!', Take a look at this picture. I can't be the only person who imagined something a bit more low tech than that. I would be surprised to see that set up and then find out it's being recorded to video tape. So I got to thinking, it's either a download or a DVDr in the mail, why does the content have to be DVD/MPEG2? If I'm going to be downloading 2-3 gig anyway. I can't be the only person who's made the jump to HD TV rips (My particular poison is Heroes at 1.25 gig a pop). And my copy of CT will probably never go near a actual DVD Player. And it's not just the shilouette that could be crisper/more detailed, there is also meant to be some sketch elements as well, lets see those pores! It sounds like they are going to offer smaller options for iPods and such. Why not a bigger (picture, not download) option for those of us who would like it? What do you think, Sirs? *Edit* This is nothing to do with HD-DVD or Blu-Ray. Nothing, Nada, Zip!

I say "no", but I would never refer to you as a freak. What? See, in my ideal world, it goes more like: Buy movie, press button to make movie, take movie to tv, press button to watch movie. Besides, I'm grinding my own personal axe regarding HD DVD players. I've spent what must be THOUSANDS on building an awesome movie collection over the last few years, only to find that my movies aren't good enough anymore. Bull. But that has nothing to do with you or anyone else. That's my issue, and I'm bitter. Because I am a selfish bastard who is beyond excited about Cinematic Titanic, and it would gnaw at my guts to know I didn't have the "best" version. So no thank you to Hi-Def for the sake of my own sanity. Sorry for poopin' in anyone's cornflakes.

This is Nothing at all to do with HD DVD or Blu Ray. I should have made this clearer.

What? See, in my ideal world, it goes more like: Buy movie, press button to make movie, take movie to tv, press button to watch movie. But I am not talking about removing any options. That would still be there! Well I guess that makes some kind of sense, your lucky your not stuck with an iPod or something then it would "lets just encode it to ipod size and leave it there"

I too view on my tv not my computer and my HD is on my tv not my computer. But, how would I record an HD onto a disc? Besides which, my DVD player is not an up-convert. Also, would it cost more to film in high def?

The point is this is an option for the people who do watch everthing on their PC or who have a HTPC of hell it could be Xbox360 compatible too. And as I mentioned before, I don't know but would be surprised if they weren't filming on a decent digital camera.

I voted yes, even though I still think you're a freak. I would love to see it in progressive scan wide screen for my 65" HDTV. I speculated in my other thread about the positioning of the Silhouettes and that they would work great on widescreen. And, that new snapshot looks quile a bit like widescreen. In the other thread, someone brought up that a good deal of the movies selected would probably not be in widescreen. IMDB says Brain of Blood is 1.85:1 ratio, which is good for widescreen, right? Here's hoping.

Yeah I do suspect it's a widescreen layout. The logo suggests it too.

Ohhhh.... you're talking about widescreen? Yes, I am all for it. Make it so. Except I can't change my vote.

I don't have an HDTV and won't have one until old-school CRTs are outlawed, or new HDTVs become $50 a pop. So, a hi-def option has no bearing whatsoever on me.

As long as you're only talking about a HIGHER RESOLUTION file and not a true HD or Blu-Ray, yes, I'm all for it. Widescreen would also be nice.

I don't think I need high definition for this type of thing, but I'd prefer it if I got progressive scan video.
These days, everything I project MST3K from is progressive scan and requires the use of a deinterlacer to watch properly. Given that films are progressive displayed in their natural state I'd hope interlaced video will be a thing of the past with CT, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
