Please be patient with me, as I am a tech tard. Wait till I leave before pointing and laughing.
Anyway, I just burned the new Rifftrax "Visit to Santa" short on to DVD using DivX. However, when I tried to play it on my DVD player, a message appeared saying that the disc could not be played. So, I guess my DVD player is not DivX compatable. (I've never used the DivX player before today.)
What I'm wondering is if this is the same format or method for burning Cinematic Titanic when it becomes available. Or do we know if they will be in a different, friendlier format? I hope so. Otherwise I'm screwed.

I am 99.9999% sure that what EZTakes.com gives you (and so what CT will be) are files that when burned are the same as a REGULAR DVD, compared to DiVX, which has DRM and other obnixious stuff in it.
The only problem I know of that could cause the CTs not to work is if they are given a region code and you have the wrong one--like if you live in Asia and the region code is north america. But, I bet there's a good chance that they'll be region free.
If you have a REALLY old DVD player, it might not like burnt DVDs, but I think most everyone one made nowadays, even the $25 models, can.

BTW, I too just tried out RiffTrax on demand, and it's pretty cool, other than the DivX copyright crap. Luckily for me, I have a PC hooked to my entertainment center, so was able to watch the stuff on a big TV.
BTW-part-ii, I got Missle to the Moon with Fred Willard and it's GREAT! Love the movie and Fred is a great riffer. He and Mike play off of each other very well. I don' t like watching colorized movies, though, but that's easily fixed by adjusting the color setting on my TV--as in turning it all the way down.

Yes, EZTakes makes a regular DVD that you can play anywhere. It works great! You download a small application (they call it a download manager) and there's a button on it to burn DVD. That's all there is to it. They have some samples you can try, I suggest the animated music "Pipedream" it's really cool!

I tried the sample at EZTakes and my DVD worked perfectly. Very easy process too.

Or you could you just select the second option on the menu 'play black and white version', it's directly below 'play colored version'.

I had the DivX--it just starts playing. There's no DVD-like menus that I saw.

I haven't looked, and I could look, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to ask. Is the EZ movie thingie Mac compatible?
If not, I will be knocking down some doors demanding a mac version.

You could just buy a PC like the other 95% of the world. "Oh, no, he didn't just say that did he? Oh god, no, not a Mac/PC discussion, we're all doomed!! DOOOMED!!" Yeah, ya know, forget I said anything.

Pierre, Yep. Mac compatible. And apparently extremely easy to use, judging from the posts I've seen thus far. RAD

EZTakes has a really good selection of movies. I decided to buy "The Revenge of Dr. X" to see if its better than the copy I already have. At only $3.99, how can you go wrong?

Really? I wasn't much impressed with their selections. Revenge of Dr. X? Is that the one with Humphrey Bogart?

You know, I was going to get a chepo monster movie to test how their system works so I could report about it here on the forums but it turns out that I already own all the monster movies on that site, or at least the ones I would subjugate myself to.
