In his most recent posting , Joel says > "In those two performances, enough new and better material evolved to warrant another pass at the film. " . . . We'll we eventually get ahold of "The Oozing Skull" - Take One ? Well, they did say they were going to make a recording of one of the live shows available, which should be close to Take One minus the interstitials. Oh yeah ! . . .fergot about that ! It'll be a transitional performance , as that's where they realized it was continuing to "grow". But then there's the 1st version as they recorded it. Who knows how much changed , and , being a creator wo knows that ideas you have deeper into the process can "seem" better , yet often be simply "alternatives" . . . well I guess I'm already thinking of the dress rehearsal versions of Sinbad n' such. It's daft to be considering alt versions of something I haven't even seen yet, tho'. Just one of a million thoughts since last night !

Same here. Shame there was no way to specify, or comments field on the survey. Imagine how many comments they would've gotten. I don't think they have anybody in the Info club poobah position to sift through them all yet. P.S. to R.S. - come back to I.S.

I just ordered mine! I'm going to save judgment on the finished product until I see it, but going by the trailer it was okay. I hope those aren't their best jokes their showing, however. Oh, are people going to yell at me for that? I did really like the setup, though. SHUN THE NON-BELIEVER. SHUN. SHHHHHHHUUUUUNNNNNNNN. No, I'm kidding. I actually feel the same way. After I got over my initial excitement I was like, "Hmm, needs more funny." But obviously it's silly to judge the final product based on a little trailer. Besides, I was "meh" about Rifftrax at first, but I really warmed up to it after a while, so maybe it'll be like that. ;D

I think it's good to be skeptical. Then you'll be pleasantly surprised if it turns out to be a winner. I'm cautiously optimistic, like always. As I wrote on my blog, as long as the Brains are divided, something will always be missing. Rifftrax and The Film Crew weren't as good as MST3K, and there's no reason to believe this one will be. But who knows?

You gotta keep a little skeptical, otherwise there is a good chance it could disappoint. It's all about waiting and seeing.

Oh, are people going to yell at me for that? Of course not, Roz! I doubt that there's any two members on this board who share the same opinion on every aspect of MST3K or the various permutations thereof. That's what makes the dialogue interesting, is it not? RAD I feel safe with you RAD, you have a gentle touch... But seriously, You are totally right, RAD. I agree with people here, I am being careful of my judgment right of the bat. I'm not thinking it will be perfect, nor I'm I prepared for it to bite. I just, you know, want to stay opened minded.

I've wondered about whether or not they were still going to release the live versions or not. Even if it didn't go "perfectly," it was a great thing to do, live shows that is. It gave them a great chance to "test the water" as it were. Still, dose anyone think they'll still release it? I would get it if they did!

But who knows? Very true. I think Cinematic Titanic is going to be a decent in-theater experience along the lines of MST3K with the shadowrama, but isn't going to have quite the same impact for me if the performers remains completely in silhouette at all times in the program.

With this they can just look at the statistics and not need to read through a ton of comments. Still it would give them better information. Yeah, I do need to get back to capping. It seems somehow whenever I do stop by nobody else is around. I was by one night during Turkey Day Week, but must have missed everyone.

Well, I've placed my order. Now the wait begins. Fortunately I have a number of projects to help me pass the time.
I'm really curious to see how it all turns out.

Wow, I leave the internets for a day and Cinematic Titanic starts without me! Oh well, I placed my order...won't be shipped for two weeks but hey, at least I know it's coming. I just wish it was Joel that was standing where Josh is...Joel's head is sometimes obscured by the bar that's holding up Josh's platform. I DON'T WANT MY JOEL OBSCURED DAMMIT!!! *Phew* Sorry bout that. Just a little excited to see Joel's second coming is all...

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get plenty of good ol-fashioned Joel riffs.
All aboard the Cinematic Titanic! Pay no attention to ice bergs.

Heh, I felt like that a little bit too. But then I thought, typical of Joel to place himself in the most retiring position, isn't it?

Well it's one of the differences to the logo, they are sitting down and a bit more scrunched into the corner, so there is less room there. I wonder if they do a widescreen film (like the logo) they will be able to widen out a bit.

Well I watched it again and LAUGHED MY ASS OFF! (now can someone help me glue my ass back on, it hurts to sit without it)
Things I loved:
* Joel, Joel, Joel! It's never been about Joel vs Mike for me. Na, Joel stands above them all. I think he's a conceptual genius, I love the sound of his voice, I love his skewed but sweet sense of humor.
* Josh! I think Josh has one of the sharpest, quickest minds in comedy. Loved his stand up act, loved him on MST, LOVED him on Star Wait and EVERY riff he delivers in this preview made me howl (Love the belly observation)
* Frank was my favorite part of "Wild Horses", he's got this almost child like way about him, but there this edge to him as well.
* Mary Jo proved she can be a lot of fun with her riffing on Glitter and Trace is without peer.
No skepticism in me, hell this is money in the bank!
