Well the Tiime Tube that Trace made could be what he is interacting with in the logo. Though the logo shows them all standing too (and widescreen) so I guess that doesn't guarentee anything.
I would not be surprised if the whole show is done in silhouette, since the photos that joel posted on the website were also in silhouette. Not saying it has to be that way, but just I wouldn't be surprised. Probably saves a lot of production costs to do it that way. The only non-silhouette photo we have is is the Wired promo shot right?

The trailer really has me excited. I'm just coming up to speed on CT though, so forgive me if this is already an old chestnut. Did they lose the puppets? I'll miss them, but I guess there would have been a real risk of rehashiness in trying to develop Crow/Servo replacements.

Just finished watching the trailer, and when 2008 begins I will order my DVD. This way I can say that 2008 has started out great! I laughed at many of the jokes, and the new silhouettes look interesting. I just hope that we see more than four movies in 2008 (since I'm pretty sure that the "Film Crew" is dead).

I just hope that we see more than four movies in 2008 (since I'm pretty sure that the "Film Crew" is dead). I recall reading somewhere that they'd already licensed 12 movies (hopefully most with download rights!). If I'm not imagining that, then an episode a month would seem likely - anything more is getting greedy, anything less is a lot of advance planning. Though given the trouble they had getting rights as mst3k's rep grew and preceded them, maybe if they had the chance to grab several years' supply of films at once, they'd have snatched it.

Those are about the lines I was thinking along. All those recent photos are silhouette. (Again, thank you Firefox spell checker). Then again, just because the trailer doesn't show any actual host-segments doesn't mean that they aren't going to be there... we can hope.

I think the one-a-month sounds perfect. And they don't yet know how successful this endeavor will prove to be (we'll show them!) so stocking up on rights beyond the first year seems a bit premature.

That and the ILM premiere, which I'll admit is different from actualy production and promo materials. But checkit out, Frank's t-shirt matches! Effort went into those suits! www.flickr.com/photos/bonniegrrl/sets/72157603405589507/But the more I think about it, the more I suspect the host segments will be in shadowrama. If they had 'regular' segments, they'd have probably included them in the trailer. I still think it might be a little awkward to do it all in the theater. It would need to be done like that one continuous take in Goodfellas, or at least look that way. Plus it'll feel like they've got their backs to the camera, even if they don't.

Jim "owns" them, and that's probably not going to change for a long time. But that's ok, because I'm excited about the idea of five humans savaging a film. I wonder if there will be shorts of any kind...

Well, I figured that, but it wouldn't preclude new character puppets. For all that they made a lot of things possible--especially in the host segments--it probably would be hard to keep it from being old wine in new bottles.

Yeah but then pesky Jim would probably come swooping in claiming rights infringement or intellectual property infringement. I'm not going to miss puppets. People will be much more interesting. Watching a Film Crew or a Rifftrax though, the one thing I did miss was the silhouettes. The disembodied voices made it seem kinda weird.

Heh heh, I was just thinking though . . . imagine these credits:
Also starring the Zignomic Institute's puppet 'tomatons!
Worc e. Tobor Trace Beaulieu (no relation)
Mot Ovres Josh Weinstein (a new man since he kicked the mango juice)
Yspyg Mary Jo Pehl (at last a woman, here me roar)
