The fat, redneck guy sitting down with his gut hanging out. LOL That might be my choice.

Since the mst3k stingers were rarely what I felt they SHOULD have been, I'll pick the one they probably wouldn't have used anyway.
I mentioned once in another thread that the thing that stands out in my mind the most about the trailer was when the eye shadow girl was making that wind balancing type gesture and then turns into a life-size ragdoll and plummets down the hillside. She looked funny the way she was gesturing, almost like a 60's kind of hippie dance. The shot remained to be my most memorable moment even after seeing the whole movie. When I picture The Oozing Skull episode in my head, thats what I see first.
I kind of think its in the forefront of the CT crew's minds as well, seeing as how they put it in the trailer. I also thought it was funny that Joel's riff for the fall down the hill was similar to what I had been saying, that she dropped her dolly.
I think the best example though of stingers not being what they should have been is in episode 207, Wild Rebels. They didn't even use a stinger for that one, but without a doubt it should have been banjo slamming his hand down and saying "That square bugs me, he really bugs meeeee!". Wild Rebels was one of the first episodes I ever saw, and I remembered that scene and line forever afterward as the first thing to come to me whenever I'd recall the episode.
I never saw another season 2 episode until about a year later. Imagine my delight when I slowly began to realize, while making my way through all the shows, that for every episode after 207, Joel used that line as a callback to Wild Rebels. It's definitely used in 208, 209, 210, 211, 212 and I'm pretty sure its in 213. I think it might even be in a few season 3 episodes too. If there ever was a sure-thing stinger, that was it, yet they didn't use it. (I've since come to rate season 2 as my favorite Joel season by far).

I'm sometimes surprised by the dull stingers they chose myself. I just watched Revenge of the Creature, and there were any number of scenes that might have stood out as a good stinger, but instead they went with a shot of John Agar swimming in scuba gear. Not really memorable or funny. They also used a fairly lame one on Leech Woman…which is full of funny scenes, but they picked the bit where the cop says: "That's where the murder was!" (or something close to that) Again, a surprisingly bland pick. At the very least it should have been someone getting nailed in the pineal gland or the 'natives' falling into the dynamite blasts.

Watched it again and can't believe I forgot about Dorro getting friendly with Gor's leg -- complete with dismount. That'd make a good stinger.
Toward the end of the movie one of the actors said, "This whole experiment was nothing but a horrible mistake. The kind of mistake only madmen make." That would have been a great, "let's poke fun at ourselves" type of stinger.

Any reason why CT can't use "stingers"?

it's time to revive this baby.
doomsday stingers, anyone? sounds like a swingin' cocktail, no?
first choice: in that massively dull scene at the end when we watch the guy who is supposed to be danny but clearly is NOT danny, hand the russian chick something. i believe it was trace who got all excited and said, "ooh! he handed her something!" (or something that effect). really sums up how excessively long and boring that part was. wow, it's almost like i thought of that all by myself.
or, when three of the astronauts are blandly watching the earth blow up. they couldn't have looked more bored if they tried.

When the kitty was tossed over the wall. PETA did not approve this film.
Doomsday Stingers:
In a large shotglass, mix 2 parts Tequila, 1 part Kaluha. Top with 151 Rum. Ignite and get away.

There's a lot more choices here:
"Ham sandwich?" "With mustard." "Venus, open up your arms!" Solo shot of soon to be dead ex crew-man: "Yes, sir". "No, Danny. I've never been in Central Park." "It's a merigold[sic], a beautiful floating merigold[sic]." "We've got some excess baggage."
Airlock scene. There are several choices here. There's the "look out!" with Katie's very delayed scream follow up. You could just focus on the Kurt's scream and his sudden drop out of scene. Floating Deadites. It kind of speaks for itself.
I have to go with the "Excess baggage" one. Monotone delivery that makes a wry comment on the movie itself.

i thought of this thread when i was watching alien factor last night -
definitely the part where the weird, somehow girly kind of guy panics and throws the can of gas at the monster and takes off running. when i first saw it, i thought maybe he would follow it with a lit match, but no - he just hauled ass! too funny.

As soon as I saw Alien Factor, that was exactly my thought, too. He's there to throw gasoline on the monster, and as soon as he sees it, he throws it down and runs away. Perfect stinger material.

For Danger on Tiki Island, I nominate the scene where the midget is pouring a drink for the scientist, but doesn't get out of the way when he's done. He just stands there and looks around like he's not sure what to do next. Everyone in the audience was howling with laughter. Even the Titans were laughing at it.
