BTW: CT staying loyal to the MN fans = CT < RT X 2 "Cinematic Titanic is less than Rifftrax times two"? Am I reading that right? Not critiquing, just trying to comprehend. It's been a rough day. Thanks for the recaps, all. It's a pity that they don't allow pictures, but if any of you have any to share... You know, this event was kind of under my radar -- I was aware of it, but wasn't giving it much thought -- but hearing about it makes me more jealous than I've ever been for an MST-related event.

It probably means that a doubled Rifftrax is greater than Cinematic Titanic. Persuasive argument.

Hey all, We just got back to our nest here in Austin, and wanted to tell everyone that was there what a blast we had! It was such a pleasure meeting those of you for the first time. All of us on the board know how sweet Miss Interoceter (and, WOW, what a great write-up Miss!) and Pierre Trudeau are, but they are even more charming and sparkling in person. Van Hagar, I was the one who pointed out where you were sitting when you raised your hand, and headed over there immediately after the show to try to meet you, but you'd already left. See you at the State, dude. I want to make one thing clear though guys, it was NOT me that provided your names to Trace. It was obviously someone much cooler and nicer than myself. I have no idea who it was, but any appreciation should be directed to that anonymous person who took the time and effort to make sure you were all recognized. Truly a generous spirit, whoever it was. Thanks to all who attended, and as for the ones who couldn't make it this time around, you were all missed. Hope to see you at the next live event. RAD

I have no idea who it was, but any appreciation should be directed to that anonymous person who took the time and effort to make sure you were all recognized. Truly a generous spirit, whoever it was. RAD Well, then thank you anonymous soul! You are cool whoever you are. Although, my husband did say Trace's wife seemed to know who I was too, when he mentioned me to RAD, so... lurker?? No, now I'm jumping to conclusions. And she is just too cute for words! Way to go Trace! Okay, not my point. Wanted to address this question: Gah! There was this woman sitting to my left right behind me who had been to every live stand up act apparently ever put on in Minneapolis to hear her talk (and talk, and talk) and though she knew all of them well she really wasn't all that familiar with MST3K the show, at least not after the first couple of seasons (she did mention something about the first episode, she had a lot of knowledge of KTMAs come to think of it... why didn't I ask her THE question? Stupid, stupid!) And she hadn't seen Cinematic Titanic because she doesn't own a DVD player. ?? She also told a funny story about Paul Chaplin. And there were a few folks talking about some people being there who had no idea who any of them were. Again: ??! Based on people who stayed for autographs, excluding "Mr. Exclusivity Groucho" I'd say 85-90% stayed for autographs and were MSTies on some level. As for total: Around 300? I think that was the stated occupancy and I didn't see any empty seats, but then again, how could I? Stupidest move of the night (aside from not helping Trace with the boxes he nearly dropped while he was across the street and I was paralyzed in the parking lot) I brought my Oozing Skull disc with me and forgot to get it autographed!! IDIOT! How stupid could I be? I even brought a Sharpie with me, like they wouldn't have any! Also, no time today, but I'm getting pictures developed tomorrow and if they turned out even halfway decent, I'll post some from the meet and greet.

Great reports folks. I really tried to make it, but work kept me in Detroit. I'd love to see the CT folks live. Maybe in October.

Who could ?It's a whole lot to be taking in , so that tidy little part of the brain that comes up with pithy posts around here is knocked clean to the side ! Bet it hasn't centered yet ! ;D

I too am now home from my Midwest adventure.
I'll start with my whole trip... almost missed the flight out of Pittsburgh because it snowed. Now see, when it snows here, no matter what is on the road, the drivers here flip poopie. The parkway to the airport was clear. However, to the Pittsburgh driver, the fact that there is snow on either side of the road means that some invisible snow must be on the road and therefore, driving 32 miles per hour on the effin interstate is justified.
Ah, road rage at six in the morning.
Security was long too... however, a nice power walk landed us on the plane just in time. But because of the snow, the plane had to be de-iced. And so did all the other 5 planes leaving at the same time. So 40 minutes later, we finally take off... and once in Philly, we had to full-fledge run to get our plane. Despite playing hockey and despite appearing to be in shape, I'm not. I can run about 10 feet before I feel a heartattack coming on. Needless to say, I was not thrilled that I had to run across the Philly airport.
But I got there! Yay! And I hadn't slept the night before either, so I was tired. But the bf wanted to go to the Mall of America; I just wanted to sleep. So we went the the mall. Roller coasters and food too rich for my colon later, we left for the comedy club.
I had written down the walking directions to the place after the train dropped us off. However, the Metro website of Minneapolis, a store clerk and a tow truck driver all gave different directions. We ended up walking to some scary part of no where in 4 degree weather. Again, back to the whole "running and walking make Pierre five steps away from a heartattack." And I was cold! We found it eventually after bf asked a newspaper truck driver.
Because my thighs were pretty much frozen solid, I wanted some nice, tasty booze to warm up. The nice, tasty Long Island I got was also quite large, and in my no-sleep-little-left-in-stomach state, the fact that I downed it in about five minutes left Pierre a bit woozy. Of course I ordered another! Meanwhile, the Titans are running around through the bar area. I felt like maybe I had frozen to death and this was some weird Purgatory. Trace walked by, said something, and of course my ADHD self doesn't listen to anything or anybody around me, so I didn't catch it. But he came back and I asked him what he said and blah blah he ended up talking to me and it was really cool. He knew I had come from Pittsburgh and that it was my birthday- talk about temporary mindf*uck. How the poop did he know that? I blamed RAD.
However, after meeting RAD soon after, he was not to blame! Anonymous informant, thankiee sir *wink wink.*
RAD is one of the nicest people I've ever met I think. Between Trace and RAD, I felt more welcome there than I have for the last few Christmases with my family.
So the show came round and it was fantastic. Mindf*ck number two: being the first shoutout from Trace was blowing my slightly intoxicated little mind! My bf making fun of me because I got called out by my online handle.
Anywho, the performance was just as Miss I told it. I missed some of Josh's set when my bladder was staging a mutiny from my body. On the way back from the bathroom I ran into Frank and told him he killed and stuff. And I like held the door for him and stuff and he said something but I forget right now because I still haven't slept from this trip.
I can totally relate to Mary Jo's not wanting to work and not holding down jobs for long. That really spoke to me.
It's a bummer I missed Josh's naughty joke about having a 21 year old stepson and those jokes around that joke.. stupid Long Islands...
While Joel was performing, I kept thinking how incredibly sweet it was to be able to see his stand up routine. Never thought I'd ever see it!
After the show, I didn't feel like waiting in the autograph line. So I sat at the bar and ate cheese sticks and had some water. Joel came up and ordered a Stella Artois right next to me and I made fun of him for drinking a hipster, gross beer. He asked me what the people there drank, that he wasn't from the area and I said I'm not either, I'm from Pittsburgh. I got the hand shake and the thanks for coming so far to see the show and a happy birthday from him.
The bf kept saying I should go get autographs and stuff but I didn't want to. So no pics from me. I'm not upset; I didn't want to bother them with pictures and stuff.
But I ended up talking to Josh briefly (and Trace again) and when I mentioned I had class today, they both said at the same time I should just drop out, look how well it worked for them! Joel passed me with his empty Stella glass and I again made fun of him for it. After the line was gone, I was still in the bar finishing a beer and Josh got a Stella. Why do they like such a crappy overrated beer? So I made fun of him.
And then we left and Frank was standing outside and I was singing about the cold and he laughed. And then we went to the hotel! So yay!
And I met Mary Jo. RAD introduced me and she seemed kind of off guard- haha. And I made Trace feel old.
It was so amazing it feels like a weird dream. Best birthday present ever! Thanks RAD and Titans! Sorry if I smelled like a bottle of booze or anything, I just wanted to be warm!

Did any one get any pictures? Miss Interocetor claims she did and should have `em tomorrow. RAD told me he was sapped from exhausting traveling, so I don't know `bout him. Who else was there ? Hey Joel, ! , any pics to post ?

Oh, you know what I mean. And RAD, I didn't see you until later in the show, when you walk by me. I thought I saw you on the other side. Guess we'll have to wait for the State.

This is probably a weird thing to do, but I found somebody's photos from the event on flickr (I'm a flickr fanatic!)... I don't know who this person is, but their photos are excellent and I hope they do not mind me posting the link here... www.flickr.com/photos/amiebea/sets/72157603903445780
