Well, Robyn stole MY question, so I'll ask:
Joel, In the "Hear The Engines Roar Now" re-creation (Pod People) we hear the greatest retort in TV history-
"It STINKS!"
How many takes were needed to nail that one?

Yeah or boxer-briefs? Queenie and Robyn totally rule. Uh... hopefully Joel never has to be in a room with all three of us though. Ooooh man... perhaps he's into the whole cat fight thing though? Nah. We'd probably all kick back and have a nice conversation about the weather over coffee and carrot cake. Neither of which are appetizing to me, but coffee and carrot cake nonetheless. But we'd just secretly be thinking about how we'd love to rip one another's hair out over Mr. Hodgson. Make that four of us. I'll crawl the lot of ya for him, I swear! Oh and instead of coffee and carrot cake, I'll have tea and ice cream pie. Or maybe beer and pretzels. I can never make up my mind. Maybe we should see what Joel would like. ;D

Well, once again you're too kind. Who, you ask? I'm quite a Trace fanboy... Still, I wouldn't want to take a stab at an interview until I've had some time to think the questions over. I've actually had some questions for Mike lying around for quite a while. In light of recent Joel interviews, I've scrapped my Joel questions. Don't want to ask the same things twice. Once I'm done working on some blog-related things, maybe I'll focus on coming up with some decent questions. Can I jump in again? *Please* do an interview with Trace! You never really see that many (or.. I've never really seen any, but maybe I haven't looked), and I think it would be fantastic. (I promise I'll leave you alone now!) Did you read the Quickstop interview with him, excellent stuff! www.quickstopentertainment.com/2007/05/16/interview-trace-beaulieu/

From that Quickstop interview (May, '07):
Interesting.
They go on to ask him questions about Rifftrax, but it's obvious that he doesn't want to talk about it. He says he "doesn't know anything about it" or something like that and when the interviewer explains, he doesn't seem interested in talking about it.

Thank you, Trumpy, I hadn't seen that! This cracked me up: QS: What part of it would be creepy? It’s like having an artifact. It’s not like it talks to you… well, maybe it does. I don’t know, does it? BEAULIEU: Well, you know, I took Crow home once to put him in a tuxedo for the premier at the Uptown in Minneapolis, and it was just too creepy having him there. Like, “You don’t belong here, you belong on the Satellite, and you’re looking at me and stop looking at me.” So I had to put him in the garment bag. QS: Do you think he was quietly passing judgment on you? BEAULIEU: Mocking me silently in his way. (side note: Trace is awesome, but I think I would be way too intimidated to speak to him if I ever saw him in person!)

The other day during a conversation with my teenage daughter, I attempted to explain that it's hard for older people to change their ways. I made a lame analogy of a big ship that's hard to turn, but once it's starts to turn, it's hard to stop. She listened patiently enough. Then she said, "So, what would be the iceberg?" "What do you mean?" "Well, you're talking about a big ship. Where's the iceberg? This analogy needs an iceberg!" So, Joel, with Cinematic Titanic, what would be the iceberg? (OK, this was just an excuse to tell about a funny thing my daughter said.)

There's interviews with Kevin, Frank and Bill on there as well, they may have done more i can't remember. All very long and good!

I havent had a chance to read all six pages of this thread, so I may be duplicating a question, but here goes.
Joel, I'm sure you have had a chance to watch some of the Mike era episodes by now. Do you have any particular favorites among them? I am not one of the joel vs mike people, I love both eras equally and think you both did excellent jobs. I also don't believe there is any animosity or rift such as the fans seem to WANT to perceive. So with that in mind, its always fascinating to me when one legend speaks about another legend. I would really like to know some of the episodes from 'Mike: the comedy central years' and also 'Mike: the sci-fi years' that you may have had tickle your fancy. ( Conversely, I would also love to know Mike's thoughts on his favorite Joel episodes). Thank you for your time, I'll hang up and listen.

Joel, since you, Trace, Frank did that awesome extra for Rhino, any plan on doing something like that again with you and the robots on a green screen?

All,
Great questions! Thanks for everybody's participation. Give us a week to pick the questions and post the responses. Mods, could this thread be locked? Again everyone, awesome job. I wish every one of these would be answered!
