Let me add my thanks to you, RAD, for all of your efforts on our behalf...and to Joel, for taking the time to answer all of the questions. Very informative, enlightening, entertaining and...stuff. Thanks again!

Nice Q&A! I have to say, I wasn't one of those irked by that slashdot interview, so him trying to set the records straight on his views of Mike, Rifftrax, ect. just didn't matter to me. (I mean, they're cool, but it wouldn't have ended my life if he didn't.) I just think it's cool to hear from him, period! Thank you, RAD! ;D And thank you, Joel, for taking the time, for CT, for all the years of pure joy and hi-larity. We've missed you! My CT library shall grow like the mighty oak...

... and apparently, a really nice guy. So, According to Joel the success of Rifftrax had absolutely nothing to do with the launch of Cinematic Titanic? Somehow I find this hard to believe. Joel says he's sure Rifftrax must be funny since Mike, Kevin , and Bill are so talented. So apparently he hasn't watched any of them? I'd be willing to bet Mike, Kevin and Bill have watched Oozing Skull and would be happy to admit as much. Yet Joel can't even spare two hours to check out at least one rifftrax from his former colleague and headwriter? Joel says he 'eventually' called Mike back. Obviously it was quite a while till he bothered to return the call otherwise Mike wouldn't have made the comment about not getting a call back. Why the delay? Yes, he says he had just launched CT and he was extremely busy but c'mon, he can't spare a few minutes to return a phone call? I understand his reasons for not being interested in RT now but that's no excuse for his rude behavior. I don't know.....I'm missing the 'really nice guy' part.

This is kind of what I was talking about. Not trying to start anything, just voicing my opinion, but really, why should any of those things be a problem? What Joel thinks or does in regards to Rifftrax is really is his right, isn't it? I wouldn't care if he bitterly hated Mike, it's his business. It doesn't spoil anything for me if he didn't return a phone call. Joel Hodgson, the man, is not there for our benefit anyway. Again, I'm not saying you shouldn't have your views, just voicing that I think a lot of people have put too much time into Joel saying this and Joel saying that. Whether he treats things the way you (and by "you" I mean anybody,) thinks he should is odd to me. When will he say "the right thing?" He can't predict how we will react, and in a way, this Q&A seems to be out of the need to give people what he thought they wanted. And yet.... Again, not trying to start something, just saying my peace.

I really have no idea what he means by that. I take it as he approached Mallon about reviving MST3K (he had everyone on board that needed to be), and due to some reason unknown to us Mallon wasn't open to it. Or he was, but Joel wasn't willing to accept Mallon's terms. Who knows. I just hope that now that mst3k.com's cartoon deal didn't work out (not that I wanted it to do badly), Jim will reconsider whatever it was that sent Joel away.

AWESOME! I really would've been happy with just the twenty questions, but this was a lovely surprise. Thanks RAD and Joel!! (One tiny little negative: I'm kinda going WTF at Joel's response to Oriana's question - I don't know why he's coming down on her for asking a simple question that 99.9% of the fans have also been wondering about. Or maybe I'm looking too much into it. But he coulda just answered RepSam's question and left her out of it. I dunno, that just bugged me, sorry. ) I'd be willing to bet Mike, Kevin and Bill have watched Oozing Skull and would be happy to admit as much. Kevin recently mentioned on the RiffBlog that he'd only seen the trailer. If Mike or Bill have actually watched it, they haven't said so anywhere. Not trying to start anything, just voicing my opinion, but really, why should any of those things be a problem? What Joel thinks or does in regards to Rifftrax is really is his right, isn't it? I wouldn't care if he bitterly hated Mike, it's his business. Roz makes a lot of sense. Anyway, Joel claims there's no animosity between him and Mike, and Mike has also said as much. We should probably just trust them on this and leave it at that.

It doesn't sound like she's asking for the premise, it sounds like she's saying "so could we have an actual PREMISE please?" I doubt that's what she meant, but that's how it read to me (and to Joel, too, since he pointed out that he liked RepSam's phrasing better). Oriana's was just phrased a little aggressively.

Hmmm, So far , as the reactions move beyond the initial stage of "wow ! , thanks Joel and RAD" , we seem to be seeing a fair amount of pickiness with things that don't seem like Joel Robinson to us. I too was wondering why he used 2 question slots to seemingly "scold" Oriana and say "Xmattxyzx: You sort of lost me there." I mean , why post a question you don't get and leave others out ? I think it's natural that we chew on these few moments , but when do we start discussing the many, many compelling things laid on us ?? For one , would he have answered this > Mastershake: Now that we know with 100% certainty that you didn't want to leave MST3K, can we ever expect to see you patch things up with Jim and start a revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 in its original form in our lifetimes?
Mastershake, anything is possible.
<< if it was completely without merit ? I mean , would he ?!
And, having just reread this > 1. Could we have an actual premise to CT? Woow! Oriana-– take it easy now, I answer this question down the page. I happened to like the way Reptilian Samurai phrased it better-– I can get touchy about stuff like this.
I get the impression he's been hit with this a lot and just used Oriana as an example of "fan pressure". He's very early in the process of playing with the pieces of CT and , as he's often said , after getting something "up on it's feet" , you begin to see what it can do.
