I freaked out at a bunch of his teasers! He didn't rule out a 20th anniversary celebration, a crossover of some sort, even the return of MST. What was one of his responses? "Anything's possible!"? To me, that says, "I'm willing to discuss it and willing to make it work." Very exciting!

Thanks for the long list of answers, both here and on the CT web site.
I've been stuck with registration problems with the CT site, or I'd put this suggestion there:
One of the things that CinematicTitantic might try is to take one of the movies done during the first season at KTMA (the "lost episodes" of MST3k), and give that movie a new cinematic titanic treatment.

We're already off to an amazing start with CT and Rifftrax, MST3K's acquisition by Shout! Factory, and the Movie rerelease. I predict it'll only get better.

Seriously! Okay, so maybe Joel and Mike aren't, like, totally BFFs - who cares!? As long as they're not trying to sabotage each other - and I see NO evidence for THAT - and keep bringing on the funny, then it's all good! Jeepers! Plus ! ( just to stir it up again ) , Joel does float the notion of eventual possibilities , once he's past the birth of CT and it's up and running. He leaves a few "clues" as to possible MSTy developments . . . but no one else seems to see those. Just finished reading both sets of questions, and I noticed those. Oh yes. I noticed those. Thanks RAD for helping make this happen and thanks to Joel for taking the time to answer! And a happy belated birthday as well!

Hey all,
So many of you have expressed appreciation to me in these posts that I feel humbled. And am truly grateful.
Please know that this venture was entirely my pleasure. Don't forget that I'm a fan too!
And, in that vein, I wanted to thank YOU GUYS. Great questions, everyone. I remember checking out all of the new entries each day and thinking; 'Oh!! I've always wanted to know that! I hope this one gets answered!!'
Collectively you guys pulled off the most comprehensive, whimsical, candid, and incisive interview with Joel that I've seen up to this point. Thanks to all of you for your participation and for the great questions!

Hey folks, I accumulated all of Joel's questions from the MST3K discussion board and the CT Forum and posted them on my site: www.rifftraxfan.com/JoelQuestions.htmlMakes it a bit easier to access them all in one spot.

Not much to add here, just that I’m impressed that in answering my question Joel managed to follow up a Phillip Glass mention with a Spike Jones and his City Slicker Band mention. If that’s not the highbrow/lowbrow spirit of mst, then what is? A Bach to Sherwood Schwartz reference maybe?

I'll just echo my thanks and... woohoo! He answered two of my questions (and he likes how I phrase them!)
Awesome answers, and great questions everyone.
Looking forward to the next CT!

I was watching a Simpson's episode recently, the one with Richard Dean Anderson (McGuyver) attending a fan convention of Stargate SG-1.
He got out of the cab, thanked the milling crowd for coming. Lenny-"He acknowledged our existance!" (spoken in fanboy excitement)
Deja Vu!
But the flip side of acknowledging a group of fans directly is kind of what I'm seeing here. If Joel doesn't make everyone absolutely happy with his answers, the Shinola hits the fan!
Oriana- I think the word "Actual" can mean different things. One of them is an antonym for "Good".
as in:
"Mr. President, do you have any plans to re-build Iraq, now that this period of relative calm seems to holding?"
Versus-
"Mr. President, do you have any actual plans to re-build Iraq, now that this period of relative calm seems to holding?"
Or, my Boss-
"John, did you get some actual work done today?"
Oh, and Happy Birthday Ori!
Back to the good stuff-
I am so ashamed! Joel WAS doing an impression of Eric The Midget's voice, and it went right over my head knees!
I love the little guy myself. He was in Jimmy Kimmel's audience the other night. I'm going to try to contact Howard 100 News about this. "All Howard, All The Time"
Thanks RAD.
Oh, and check out my new signature...

It was just because of the phrasing. It doesn't sound like she's asking for the premise, it sounds like she's saying "so could we have an actual PREMISE please?" I doubt that's what she meant, but that's how it read to me (and to Joel, too, since he pointed out that he liked RepSam's phrasing better). Oriana's was just phrased a little aggressively. I wasn't being aggressive, I was asking an honest question that we've all wanted an answer to. There was no reason for Joel to respond the way he did. Heck, there was no reason at all for him to even say anything as he answered the question later on. I really feel like he was mocking me and not in a good way. He hurt my feelings and I'm not sure if I'll ever get over it. Yesterday was my birthday and it didn't go all that well (think Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles), so when I came home I was really excited to see that he answered our questions. I figured maybe my day would go out on a high note. Man, I was so wrong! I really didn't see anything offensive in your question. Here I was pleased to see Joel mention me, but I'm sorry that it hurt your feelings. I think he was actually trying to answer the question only one time, but wanted to include you as well rather than ignore your question entirely. I'm sorry it came off negatively.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good day on your BDay, hope things look up... as for the posts/question.. well, maybe it makes me naive or perhaps a bit of a rube, but personally I always, always try to assume the best of people. In that light I read Joel's response along two fairly positive directions. First, your question was good enough/has been buzzing around enough that he felt it warranted getting two slots in the responses. Second, he just liked your handle enough to want to type it himself. As I said,, maybe it makes me a rube but it sure allows me to enjoy my life a lot more and nets me a lot more friends than enemies, so it works for me.

Yeah, he's a comedian they make light of stuff... I don't think he was trying to be mean, just silly. At least you gotta a mention, my comedy hero ignored me and my questions completely (I'm teasing, I'm not that upset) But is there any way to try to ask the CT people questions? Do they post on their forum? I ask because I watched Herc and the Captive Women and there's the riff, "Kill them all" - "Except for Chopper, he's the funny one" - Joel I have been trying to figure this one out for years and years and years (along with many here). And its not the only time Joel said this (Usually in context when an evil leader demands the death of many) This is the ?? I should have asked - Who the hell is Chopper!? lol
