Zombies are trendy right now. I don't know why. Zombie movies are to the film world what fingerpainting is to art. Anyone with a camcorder, some ketchup, and some ugly friends can pretend to be an auteur.
And yet what's the secret of that new horror movie? Zombies. What's the hook of the new PS3 game? Zombies. What's the new internet fad replacing LOLcats? Zombies. (Okay, so it's not all bad.)
Here are two examples of why the fad is so inexplicable. One starred a guy who went on to direct $100 million films. The other starred a guy who went on to be Ray Dennis Steckler. One had Adam West fighting a voodoo witch. The other had a gypsy and her pet Ortega.
But which was worse? Or better. Or whatever. It's pointless anyway.

I don't share the hate for Incredibly Strange Creatures..., but the presence of Adam West makes this a no-brainer.

Anyone with a camcorder, some ketchup, and some ugly friends can pretend to be an auteur. Brilliant! Mr. A, I could kiss you. What's the new Internet fad replacing LOLcats? Zombies. (Okay, so it's not all bad.) Oh, see, now you go and spoil it. Anti-cat extremist, pah. (To be accurate, LOLcats will be replaced by ZOMGbies.) Neither of these eps do anything for me. Funny that with all the bad SF movies MST did, there aren't more zombies movies. I guess it's like Mr. A says. Zom-B-movies are more of a recent phenom.

I've always liked Incredibly Strange Creatures I think it's quite funny. I like Zombie Nightmare but not as much. It does give me an excuse to watch them both this weekend which is why I love these Fridays polls.

I recenly saw ZN and liked it an awful lot. I haven't seen ISC in years, but I remember it being one of my favorites. They're both weird, but I just liked the weirdness of ISC better. It also has a better title.

I went with TISCWSLABMZ because it's less painful.

Hey! I LOVE LOLcats!
I went with Incredibly Strange... there's something endearing in its badness. And I really, really hated that crazy teen in ZN. I wanted to see a much more painful, protracted death scene. I know they edited it out, but whatever the original scene showed, it wasn't enough.
This is either America in 1984 or Canada today.

Oh, see, now you go and spoil it. Anti-cat extremist, pah. Actually, I'm more of an anti-extremist about cats. So you can still give me that kiss. And while I don't hate TISC...Z as much as I used to, it's still towards the bottom of my 10-worst list. So this was a no-brainer for me. Heh, heh. No-brainer. I guess that means the zombies will leave me alone.

If there aren't more votes for TISCWSLABMZ, I'm gonna get my Schick out of shape. *consoles self with a cone from Twist & Crème*

So you're saying that it's not the cats, it's the cat-loving people you can't stand. I guess that's means you're just a misanthropic curmudgeon. That's fine by me! To receive your kiss, just bend down and stick your face against your monitor here: In Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell, said Warriors were simply the dead reanimated by magic. That's sort of like zombies, isn't it? Although they didn't act like typical movie zombies. What about the monsters in Horror of Party Beach? They were dead bodies reanimated by magic radiation and protozoa, more or less. Also, in zombie lore, the zombie's controller had to keep the zombies from tasting salt, because otherwise they would remember they were dead and go back to their graves. Salt = sodium--see?

Wow, I can't believe that Ray Steckler's bit of dreck is faring this well. I'm guessing that more people have seen TISCWSLABMUZ than Zombie Nightmare. How can you vote against an episode that features both Tia Carerra and Motorhead?
Screw "Talk Like A Pirate Day", I'm going to get the ball rolling on "Talk Like The Cynical Crime Scene Investigator From Zombie Nightmare Day."
"You're looking for one very large, angry individual!"

You went easy on me this wekk Mr. A - Nightmare is one of the best, that other one is one of MSTs worst. Tried to watch it again recently and had to shut it off after a half hour -In fact I started shouting like George C. Scott in "Hardcore". "TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF!"
While Nightmare makes me go, "tee-hee" and "Ha, Ha" and other sounds of mirth.
