Judging from the theater district's website, you can either buy tickets from the local box office, mail/fax, or Ticketmaster. I'm assuming Ticketmaster is what most of us will be doing - does anyone know if they even allow seat selection in general, or if you just pick a seating price range? Or it may depend on the venue; I've never used Ticketmaster before.

Well I don't know if it will be the same as buying tickets for the Rifftrax show, but for that, all the seating appeared to be the same price. You had the option of picking what general section you wanted to sit in (center, left balcony, right balcony, ect) but Ticketmaster would pick the actual seats for you. So if you say how many tickets you want and what general area you want to sit in, it will automatically find a block of seats that is closest to your preference. Obviously, ordering early is the best way to ensure that you get what you want.
Also keep in mind that Ticketmaster charges ridiculous fees for ordering the tickets. There's a building charge per ticket, a Ticketmaster ordering charge, a convenience charge per ticket, and then you'll likely want to pick the option that lets you print out the tickets from your computer (for a fee of course). Otherwise, they send you the tickets like 48 hours or something before the show, and since many of us would be coming from out of town, that probably wouldn't be a good idea...So yeah, if anyone is ordering a bunch of tickets, you wanna keep those cost things in mind.

I know that Ticketmaster and their fees are pretty stupid, but is there really another option? Would it decrease the costs if a few of us ordered blocks of, say, 4 or 5 tickets at once for small groups that we know are attending?

Meh...I don't really think it will make much of a difference. I think Ticketmaster is the way to go, but I was just saying that so nobody would be surprised when the bill for "x" number of tickets was more than what they were initially expecting (based on whatever the price listed will be).

Oh, I was also looking for cheap places to stay and I found a Motel 6 in Roseville, MN for $49.99 a night for October 24-26. According to MapQuest, it's about 15 minutes driving distance (7.55 miles) from the theater. I never take cabs, so I don't know how much it would cost to take a cab if people went with that option (assuming we don't have enough drivers), but it's the cheapest motel I've seen, so I thought I'd put it here as a possibility. Motel 6 www.motel6.com/2300 Cleveland Ave N Roseville, MN 55113-2701 Obviously someone that knows the area would be helpful in this situation, as I don't know if it's a good area or not. There is a group rate, though the price isn't listed, but it requires a minimum of 10 rooms to count. Or if you think we could pass off as a youth group, cause then we only need 5 rooms, lol. ;D

Well, if it all works out, I'd still plan on driving, and something at that distance would be great. Somebody said a while ago that there's parking available near the theater, so I could tentatively provide a ride for one or more from a motel like that. That's dependent on my final plans, of course, but it seems reasonable if I have to drive anyway.

I'm hoping fan activities won't be limited. But I'm still wanting to go! Regardless, it will be a fun show.
Should I start looking through some potential Eats and activities? The Mall is lame but with a funny bunch of people could be a laugh riot.

I am all about turning that weekend into an official fan gathering. Since I've never been to Minnesota, I'm willing to do anything you guys want to do.
As a certified shopping junkie, going to the Mall of America would be like heaven for me, though I am aware that not everyone is as loving towards malls as I am. But hey, whatever you guys want to do.
So I say, go ahead and look for places to eat and things to do Sia. I'm sure you'll come up with some cool stuff!

I have no problem admitting to having fun at a Mall hang. If it's with the right people it can be very fun. But having the right people along for anything is like that with any activity! I never have a problem with museums. I enjoy a little live music and frosty libations as well. And while I know not everyone is a fan I also have no problems with clubbing. As for food, they do it right in Minneapolis, so it's more of a question of what's near or dear to everyone. I'll start chucking up a list of things close to the theater. Once a hotel gets narrowed down I can look around that too.

My only request food wise is a place that serves lots and lots of meat. Other than that, I'm not too picky.

There's also the Roseville mall so if you didn't want to make the trek to the Mall of America that might satisfy your shopping urges.

Hey, can my official title under my username be Meatatarian? Anyway, I've updated the first page and added a list of people who are planning on going at this point, just so we can actually have a count to work with. If plans change and you want your name off the list, just let me know. If you want to be on the list, just post here and let me know too! The more the merrier!
