Not since Beckett’s immortal Waiting for Godot has the drama of two men locked in a filthy bathroom and brutalized by a crude ventriloquist dummy on television captured the hearts of audiences everywhere. RiffTrax Presents Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett riffing on the original, jaw-splitting, skull-drilling, Danny Glover-ing, fat naked dead man-showing movie that started it all, if by “all” you mean a five-movie franchise that’s now as tired as Bruce Willis at the end of 16 Blocks. PARENTAL ADVISORY!!!: The Movie Saw is rated R for its extremely graphic and grisly violence and excessively foul language. This RiffTrax is intended for Mature Audiences only. Parental discretion not only is strongly advised, it just makes plain good common sense. Releasing on May 13th! Next 20q's on May 14th! www.rifftrax.com/rifftrax-presents/saw

Ugh, more modern garbage. I positively hate this movie, and it has nothing to do with the language or the grisly violence. I understand why they go with these newer films – you gotta go with what sells – but the appeal of Rifftrax wanes more for me with every new movie they do.
Still, Bill and Kevin without Mike would be kind of interesting. That would be the only reason I look into this one, and even with that I probably won't.

I've never seen any of the Saw films (mainly cause I'm not too fond of gore) but if Kevin and Bill are "watching" it with me, I don't think I'll feel so scared! I think I'll check this one out!

So Queen, are you saying you didn't see Saw? ;D *brick'd*
Wow, this is actually one movie I never expected to see in the RiffTrax catalog. Is this the first time they've done an R-rated horror movie? It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. Personally I don't know how they're gonna make brutal torture funny, but I've got faith in the RiffTrax guys. And if "RiffTrax Presents: World Enough And Time" is any indication, Kevin and Bill do great on they're own.

Horror films are ripe for mockery. I hope they do more in the future.

Is this the theatrical or unrated? I own the unrated, and if it's theatrical, I'll be pissed. This would be gold!

I used to own this, was writing my dissertation on this type of crap, but sold it because it's pretty damn bad. Not scary, not even that gory. Definitely a lot to mock. i look forward to this, I'm just annoyed I need to go and buy it again!

Real mixed emotions on this one. I'm usually ready for anything the RiffTrax folks want to try, but I absolutely hate the whole horror/torture genre. I have no desire to see the movie, but of course I will, just to see what Kevin and Bill can do to try to make it funny.

This one may be the first Rifftrax I pass on. I despise 'slasher' movies and I'm not thrilled with the idea of a movie that uses excessive profanity either.

It's not exactly a 'slasher' film Doctor Z, more a 'psychological with a bit of self inflicted physical torture thrown in' film. It's ripe for mockery but the film does make me uneasy, just like Hostel. Not because it's scary but rather the way it has used torture for commercial gain and succeeded. I hope they rip it a new one!

Maybe "Saw" is not a slasher movie, I'll take your word for it, but this movie is not something I want to sit through no matter how funny Bill and Kevin may be. I find this sort of movie profoundly disturbing. I am not at all "thrilled" by torture, psychological or physical being presented as entertainment. I just don't have that kind of personality. I'm making no judgments here. I'm just speaking for myself.

Is this the first time they've done an R-rated horror movie? Halloween was rated R. There have been a couple of other trax of rated R movies.

Is this the first time they've done an R-rated horror movie? Halloween was rated R. There have been a couple of other trax of rated R movies. That and Predator are the two I can think of that were fairly violent. Halloween is pretty low-key compared to modern movies, but as grisly as a couple scenes in Predator are, they pretty much fly by in big action movie-style violence. I think Saw is another step beyond that, and is way more drawn out and disturbing. No interest in this one.
