Yup: www.antilabelblog.com/?p=246And he's even playing Scotland for what may be the first time in my life. But I can't go Why? Because he's charging £95 a ticket, about $195, the dearest of the whole tour. Pretty disgraceful and as much as I hate the fact I won't even be trying to get a ticket. I love Tom Waits but this is putting me off of him a bit. Christ, Dylan only cost £30 the last time he played!

He's playing St. Louis but not Chicago.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Considering he did "Frank's Wild Years" with Steppenwolf Theatre in the 80s . . .

I'm a young Waits fan, 20 years old and still living with my parents who are paying for my college... and said parents have always warned me about the dangers of credit cards (went through bankrupcy 10 years ago) and as such since I don't technically need one yet I don't have one. No credit card with proof of ID that I'm owner of the credit card plus Ticketmaster: no Tom Waits for me.
And now commences several weeks of whining about the fact that I'm going to miss a Tom Waits concert. If only I could find someone here who loves Tom Waits that I could tag along with. Now let's see, that makes... zero people.
Thanks for telling me about this you bastards!

Yeah the ID thing's kind of thrown me as well, but at the price I wouldn't be trying anyway. The Edinburgh gigs are double pretty much the rest!

I saw a poster for the tour today! Why must I be tormented so?!

The Edinburgh gigs are already sold out so at least I can console myself with the idea that there's no way to get a ticket now.
It's not much but it'll have to do.

Yeah I know and I agree with that, I just don't have a piece of ID they'd accept. As someone on his website posted the prices are already like a scalper's prices. I'm totally behind stopping those scum, as every popular event ends up half empty because they buy so many of the tickets, but if it's going to cost this much to stop them then it's going to stop people going anyway.

I have a Tom Waits story and this is a good place for it. It's from my Brother-In-Law in LA before he was my Brother-In-Law. In the late '70s, or early '80s he thought he saw Tom Waits getting out of a car. He went up to the car, it was littered with hamburger wrappers and crap. and saw a speeding ticket on the dashboard. The windows were down so he grabbed the ticket and sure enough it was made out to Tom Waits. So he took it. But feeling a bit guilty he made a copy and mailed it to Waits. Of course the address was on the ticket. But I would love to hear an interview of Tom Waits mentioning somebody stealing and then mailing a ticket to him. My Brother-In-Law thinks he still has the ticket in a box somewhere. If he ever comes across it I asked him to scan it and email it to me. I think it would be kind of cool to have.

Oh man, I wish I had made the trek to see that! He even played Dirt in the Ground. That would have been like a religious experience for me, worth it's weight in gold. Oh well, another missed opportunity.

He's playing tonight in Columbus. He's never played here before, and the tickets sold out in about 5 minutes.

Quite a diverse setlist there. Even played one from the Night On Earth soundtrack!

He opened the tour in Phoenix! Man, what a bummer that I didn't even know about it until recently.
