I think "other places" inflate the shipping cost. Realistically, how much would it actually cost to mail an item that size? Probably the couple of bucks they are charging. IMHO those who inflate shipping costs to increase profit are less that ethical. I used to work for a company that shipped a lot of items of that nature. It was amazing how much profit we made on "postage savings". Though that was literally the only thing we made any money on. Esp. when you consider that those kind of companies are probably getting VERY healthy discounts from UPS, USPS, and FedEx due to their volume. Much like how the old Columbia House deal was able to give you 12 free CD's and still make money due to the $2.95 "shipping and handling" you paid for the order. Pree-cisely.

DVD. I have a poor dial-up connection and an aging computer, so anything download only isn't much interest to me. A hard copy is definitely worth the extra dollars. (Plus still cheaper than buying a new PC or a faster internet connection).

I was worried there would be download issues and it looks like there is. Anyone actually able to download it, yet? Yes. EZtakes had a lot of problems, but my download did finish at around 9pm EST on launch day and I watched it immediately afterwards.

(Plus still cheaper than buying a new PC or a faster internet connection). That would be true if the only thing you were doing were using a new PC and Broadband connection to download Doomsday Machine, but there's so much more you can do with both those things, it easily justifies the investment. Once you go broadband, the mere thought of dial-up makes you ill.

I downloaded it! Everything worked great, and then I burned it onto a disk and watched it on the big screen. It’s awesome to not have to wait for it to go through the mail. I know I’ve said it before, but I wish I could buy all my movies like this. It would be cool just to have the option is all.

Although we had lots of problems the first day of downloading, it was resolved the next day and went very smoothly. I will definitely download again.

Ordered it on DVD, which arrived yesterday. Only had time to watch the opening bit and the credit sequence, but so far it looks top notch. Numerous LOL riffs during the credits.

Ordered the DVD and it arrived today. Folded into the Paypal receipt was a little baseball-card sized piece of paper with Trace's shadow and "Thanks for shopping at Cinematic Titanic." It looks like Trace signed it with a silver sharpie. Did everyone get one of these? Is it a real signature?
