Ah, The Diamonds are a favorite! I also enjoy Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, The Grass Roots, The Animals, The Mamas & The Papas, The Hollies, The Kinks, Chuck Berry, CCR, Jim Croce, etc, etc. The list goes on...
I enjoy listening to the oldies. I grew up listening to them on the radio, and now on my ipod. I listen to everything and anything, but the oldies I listen to more than anything.

I play a good deal of this sort of thing on the guitar, trying in part to find stuff that isn't country that the oldsters around me will tolerate. Thus:
Can’t Help Fallin in Love, Blue Suede Shoes, Tammy, All I Have to Do is Dream, Love Potion #9, Fever, I Like it Like That, Up on The Roof. And on into the British invasion, with songs like Ferry Cross the Mersey.

Just the other day I heard Rhapsody In The Rain by Lou Christie on the radio. Came out in 1966. What a great great song! Also, his Lightnin' Strikes, yet another classic great song, also from '66. If Lou Christie isn't in some hall of fame SOMEWHERE, there is no justice.

Rhythm Of The Rain by The Cascades has always been a favorite of mine. The Girl From Ipanema is another. Heck, 90% of my music collection is pre-1980's. Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald are personal favorites from the 50's. The 60's and 70's have too many to name.

Gawd it's weird hearing this stuff called oldies. When I was a boy the oldies station played stuff like The Coasters, Pat Boone and Billy Haley. CCR and the Beatles were played on regular stations and Jim Croce was still alive.

The Beatles are my favorite group of all time. While my friends were listening to country, I was cranking out "Hey Jude" and "Magical Mystery Tour". I also love the Lovin' Spoonful, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Three Dog Night, the Stones, Bob Dylan, the Zombies, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young. Basically, the stuff from the mid to late 60's, and some early 70's. My sister and I were horrified when the oldies station started playing stuff from the 80's...

I found an interesting CD at my library, called "American Roots of the British Invasion," a compilation of songs the Beatles and others covered. It was pretty good.

I was raised on 'oldies'. . . My friends always thought I was so weird when they were listening to John Mayer and Jack Johnson, I always had Let it Be and Quadrophenia playing. My personal favorites: The Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones, The Who, Janis Joplin, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Cream, Tom Petty, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and I know there's a ton more. . .

I've been listening to a lot of Jim Croce lately. Man that guy rules. I'm 19 and I don't think most people my age even know who he is, and that's sad.

My favorite Jim Croce is a lesser known song called "Lover's Cross." Listening to it always makes me sad.

I can't decide. Well, I...um...guess? I know it wasn't a single. How do you like the other artists of the 70's & 80's who did soft rock or folk? Artists like Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, Janis Ian, Carol King, Bread, America...and other wonderful, mellow works of music. BTW, I'm a progressive rock fan. Pink Floyd, Yes, Jethro Tull, Van Der Graaf Generator, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Traffic. You name it, I've probably listened to it. Of, course The Beatles and Rolling Stones. As I wrote earlier, there are way too many bands I like too list them all.
