I've always liked what I heard of Blue Oyster Cult on the radio, but never invested time into hearing more beyond that. What album would you Blue Oyster Cult fans recommend I start with?

Definitely the top two on my list (Fire of Unknown Origin/The Revolution by Night) are good for starters.

I like BOC a lot but have always felt that with them, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
That being said, I think Secret Treaties is their most solid and consistent album. Career of Evil, Subhuman, Dominance and Submission, Flaming Telepaths, and Astronomy are all some of my personal favorite cuts. But I would be hard pressed to find a release of theirs without one or two good songs on it.

The only BOC album I have is the "live" Some Enchanted Evening with the "Don't Fear The Reaper" into "Godzilla" (amazing drum breakdown!) medley. The only reason why I haven't heard their other stuff is mostly because their other LPs, regardless of being dollar bin fodder, I have found have been rinked to death and unplayable. I should buy one of the remastered CDs one of these days.

I tried listening to Blue Oyster Cult and, honestly, besides the songs that get played a lot on the radio ((Don't Fear) the Reaper, Godzilla, and Burnin' for You), I didn't really dig too many of their other songs. The only one I really liked besides those three was Dominance and Submission.

I recently listened to "Spectres" and I was really just blown away by it. These guys rocked, back in the day of course.

Ah yes...Blue Oyster Cult. The greatest concert I ever saw. These guys are monsters on stage. My favorites:
1.Tyranny And Mutation 2.Imaginos 3.Spectres 4.Some Enchanted Evening 5.Blue Oyster Cult 6.Fire Of Unknown Origin 7.Cultosaurus Erectus 8.Agents Of Fortune
Someone should start a thread on Thin Lizzy or Cheap Trick. Really enjoyable hard rock bands.

I love Cheap Trick and Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" is a must-own CD.

Of the Blue Öyster Cult songs I've heard (not very many) my absolute favorites are "Astronomy" and "Burnin' for You".
I also like "O.D.'d on Life Itself", "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" and "Godzilla". But that's about it.
