I've been waiting for CT to mine the Philipine vampire movie genre.

Wow, Trace is full of info. The movie after this is a Christmas movie (yay), and then the 3rd of the next group of three is a frankenstein-ish movie.
I wonder if these will be the 3 that they're doing in Chicago in December.
EDIT: Okay he says at the end. These will be the 3 shown in Chicago

I'm not positive, but I think he said something about the Christmas one coming out next--which would make sense unless they bring two out in less than 12 weeks. It was in a mumbled, jumbled bit where Trace was back tracking. Anyway six weeks from 10/9 is 11/20. Seems close enough to Christmas.
Now, any speculation on what it could be?
Anyone find the Italian Frankenstein movie yet? All I found looked like a, ahem, more adult version of Frankenstein (the summary mentioned the monsters, erm, member). I'll go out on a limb and say CT won't be doing that one.

It's Italian, has Frankenstein in the title without really having anything to do with the original story, and is PD. I think that would create bad blood where there needn't be any.

There does seem to be a lot of blood in these titles. Even Oozing Skull was originally a brain o' blood. Just look for an Italian film with blood in it.
Frankenblood, or Chock Full O' Blood or Frank's gaping wound of blood.

I wonder, if CT is releasing a version of that same film, why would there be bad blood? Would people believe it was deliberate? How could CT have known that the XP group was releasing a Trax of it? I mean, I believe that the CTs that are being released over these next several months were all filmed at the same time back in July. Does anyone remember? I dunno. Doing the same bad movies-- if CT is releasing a version of that same film--isn't plagiarism. Now, I'm just going on what the Brains have said about the films they chose in the past: while there are a lot of bad PD movies out there, only maybe 1 out of 10 is well-suited for riffing. And if the riffers aren't able to edit out hard-to-riff scenes, as they did sometimes on MST, their choices may be even more restricted. Like I said, I dunno. But I hope, if the riffing groups do choose the same film, everyone involved will be able to say the more the merrier.

I think July was when they recorded the 3 that are already out. The new 3 were recorded some time around Sep 22 per MJ's blog post: ( here). The ICWXP movie came out on RiffTrax on Aug 19th. Still, that doesn't mean CT knew about it, or have even now heard about them. I just think it would suck because it kind of makes them look like they're in direct competition when they aren't. Also, if it were the same movie, and I've already seen it satisfyingly riffed, I don't need to see it riffed again. I guess I'm saying, it would make it more likely that people would "pick sides," instead of "the more the merrier" as you say.

I'd prefer something I haven't seen, of course. If CT does it, I am sure they would edit the movie more than ICWXP did. I sure hope they don't do Lady Frakenstein live in St Louis. I just watched the ICXWP version a couple of times this week.

Well there’s Lady Frankenstein, (fun movie) Frankenstein 80 (horrible) and Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks. (Bad movie with an awesome title.)
This raises some interesting questions. If CT and ICCXP are not in competition than why would it matter if they riff the same movie? Seeing how I’m not a fan of those other guys, I’d love to see CT take on Lady Frankenstein.
Blood of the vampires should be interesting. There’s a whole subgenre of Filipino monster movies just begging to be riffed on.

I am not sure if Blood of the Vampires really counts as a "Filipino" horror movie as it appears to have an all hispanic cast and crew.
From what I have read about the movie, it seems to be a classic stinker and I cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on it.

If CT and ICCXP are not in competition than why would it matter if they riff the same movie? Just because they are not competing doesn't mean their two audiences don't almost completely overlap. Actually, by definition, it only makes sense that ICWXP's and CT's audiences would be both composed almost entirely of MSTies.

Definition of what? I don’t get it but anyway, if they’re both selling riffs for money then they’re in competition. Like if we were both selling MonsterX Brand and BoB3K brand breakfast cereal, we would both be in competition. Or is we were selling soap, or toilet paper, or dishwashing detergent, or a muffin, or sacks of dandruff, or lint traps, or a small Hungarian man, or feta cheese or . . . .
