I'm almost more curious: it would be the best possible test of ICWXP's riffing skills to compare them directly to the CT crew's take on the same film.

That's what I was thinking.
The only movie that's been done twice is Plan 9, as far as I know.
First by Mike, for Legend, and now the Rifftrack crew has re-done Plan 9. Since some of Mike's material was re-cycled, that one doesn't really fit in competition conversation, though.

Definition of what? I don’t get it but anyway, if they’re both selling X for money then they’re in competition. But they don't have to be in direct competition--people can enjoy and buy more than one kind of riff or soap or muffin or feta cheese, but if you have two riffs of the same movie, it becomes a harder sell to get the average riffing fan to buy both. Most are going to pick one or the other--of course this is just my opionion; I have no facts to back it up. I just know that I personally don't like crappy movies enough to watch them multiple times just to see different riffs. I could be in the minority. I'm almost more curious: it would be the best possible test of ICWXP's riffing skills to compare them directly to the CT crew's take on the same film. I don't think it really would. As has been discussed here, there and everywhere-- People have vastly different tastes in comedy. So, riffing "skill" would be almost impossible to quantify. EDIT: I didn't mean to stear another thread in the CT forum towards ICWXP discussion. I'll say no more.

Oh, I was still just talking about my own personal taste. I'm more likely to check out their version of the film if CT has done it, just to have the best test of whether or not I think their riffing holds up to something I'm already familiar with.

RIFF FIGHT! But seriously, we need more vampire movies riffed. Looking forward to this one. I agree! Cheaply made horror movies are perfect riff fodder and I am hoping they can get around to doing "Dracula vs Frankenstein". The afro-wearin' dracula cannot be beat. I wonder who is making the movie picks for them? Speaking of riffing on "Lady Frankenstein", that would be fine by me. I have the ICWXP movie and it was a riot. I would not mind hearing another take on the movie cuz I am not watching the movie because it so great...... I am watching to hear the comments. Both Josh Way and CT did Wasp Woman and I loved both riffs.

Blood of the Vampires hurts. It hurts on a real Manos level. I know everybody says that about every Cinematic Titanic release, but it is absolutely true this time! It’s got atrocious acting, awful sound (and the bad dubbing makes it even harder to follow, as you can’t rely on reading the actors’ lips), creepy vampire incest, and topped off with ridiculous racism sigh....

I actually didn't think it was that bad, other than the offensive casting choices. Certainly not anywhere near the painful level of "Legacy of Blood" or the ending of "Doomsday Machine". And it certainly wasn't anywhere near as bad or disturbing as "Manos", for me at least. It was more like "Sampson vs. the Vampire Women" meets "Touch of Satan". And the movie actually had some ambition to be more than just a vampire slasher flick. They didn't have any budget, and it was poorly dubbed, but they were trying to tell a story at least, which is a big step up from the last CT movie.

Obviously this is all subjective, but I was able to handle the last 10 minutes of Doomsday Machine no problem, and because of a defective disc, I haven't been able to see Legacy of Blood yet. I just remember squirming in my seat at the show because at the beginning, I couldn't understand anything the actors were saying, so the movie was hard for me to watch. I eventually got used to it and was able to follow later on, but the blackface really made me want to punch someone, namely the filmakers. I thought the CT crew handled those parts marvelously though. So much unpleasantness on screen...

From a film standpoint, Legacy of Blood is way worse then Blood of the Vampire. Waaaaaay worse. Blood of the Vampire still sucks though. Ok, I didn’t mean to make that pun. Put down that hammer! What are you doing? AARHR
