I've been rather harsh on CT thus far, but I really enjoyed this new one. This episode and SCCTM are the only two I've been all that happy with. The first half was hilarious and the second half wasn't too shabby either. The whole black face thing just blew my mind. And the sheer number of them! It was like a Python sketch. The movie couldn't have been more perfect for them. And for the first time in the history of CT, Joel actually had the riff that made me laugh the hardest. I won't repeat it. Don't wanna ruin it for anybody.

I watched it again and that ending, with the army of Catholics, the statues, the one with Jesus and a chicken... OMG, I was laughing so hard my lungs were aching for air.

I have seen the horror that is Blood of the Vampires and I loved it!
I loved the choice of movies. The black-face Filipinos take the cake. Riffing is strong. Enjoyed the few MST references tossed in. Top-notch effort. I anxiously await their next release!

The Blackface was the most WTF moment I've had watching anything all year.

Saw it last night with a few friends, we thought it was brilliant!. I think we were laughing nearly all the way through. It was the perfect movie to riff on.

Loved this episode! The film was spectacularly bizzare and the riffing was first rate. It never occured to me that a Mexican studio would actually fund travel to a foreign location to shoot a cheap vampire movie. Chauvanistic of me I suppose, but this was the most unbelievable fact about this film. The "green" black face was pretty stupid and hilarious. What were they thinking? Perfect film and a perfect riff!

Chauvanistic of me I suppose, but this was the most unbelievable fact about this film. The "green" black face was pretty stupid and hilarious. What were they thinking? Perfect film and a perfect riff! It was a Filipino vampire movie made in 1964. (Not a Mexican movie.) In 1971 it was dubbed and released by Hemisphere Pictures as the second movie double bill with another Filipino horror “classic”, Beast of Blood. Sam Sherman was the producer of Hemisphere Pictures and he made a lot of money releasing Filipino horror films for the U.S. drive-in market in the 70’s. Interestingly, CT episode one “The Oozing Skull” aka Brain of Blood (Sam Sherman again) was made to look like a Filipino horror movie even though it was made state-side, due to the success of the Blood Island series of films. I know all this stuff but I can remember my wife's birthday. What the hell is wrong with me?

Their best release yet. It's a hilariously awful movie with spot-on riffing. I got it while I had a cold with a really bad cough. I thought I was going to die since every joke was making me laugh out loud which just triggered another really bad coughing fit.
The skit with Josh handing out drinks started out very well. Loved Trace's attempts to get his own drink, and Joel and Josh's reaction when Frank accepted the drink: "Josh!" "What!? I'm not his mother!" Unfortunately, it did sort of fizzle out after that.
The newspaper dialogue killed me, too. "I specifically told you to bring the Sunday Times!" "But I haven't read the Arts & Leisure section yet!" This was my favorite so far. I can't wait for the next one.

I think this was really well done. Most of MST3K's films that are entertaining to me usually have some features that were found here:
1) Bad dubbing 2) Cultural translations of things
Plus, so many of the riffs that were at the CT show in Chicago made it in. I loved the line: "So this is the giant stone basement you wanted me to burn down?"
Plus, like most horror films, there are stupid people who do stupid things.
"Well, my wife came back to life as a vampire. Sure she poses a threat, but I'll let her run around for a bit BEFORE I decide to lock her up."
"Hi Mom. I know you're a vampire, but I'll just throw away this cross because I know you'll recognize me as your so-OW THAT HURTS!"
