She Hulk... i enjoyed Dan Slotts run, i hear some whining about David's run on boards, but I enjoyed the 'Jaded' tpb so I'm looking forward to the next one. 4th wall breaking never held big appeal for me. that was Byrnes shtick and i stopped reading Shulkie after a while. came back for Slott. David ends with a double sized issue, curious what'll become of Jen.
Read the 3rd Ex Machina tpb.... not as good as 1st 2 but not bad. I need to read his 'Y: Last Man' or whatever it's called. Heard good word of mouth on it as well.

I also bought a Batman that featured Catwoman (written by Paul Dini) and in Feb Neil Gaiman’s Batman/Detective one shots will be released (but a Batman without Bruce Wayne? No thanks… the Gaiman issues will be my last) *THIS POST CONTAINS A SPOILER OF FINAL CRISIS. IT IS MARKED BUT AVOID IT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ FINAL CRISIS #7 YET!* Don't dismiss the best books going today because of that stupid rumor that Bruce is going away. He's not, they're just basically revamping the character sorta like they did with Superman back in the day, hence why they're titling the storyline in the "last" issue of Batman and Detective "Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader?" a throwback to the classic Alan Moore story before they revamped Supes, "Whatever Happened To The Man of Tomorrow?". *SPOILER ALERT* If you've read all of Final Crisis so far, then, you know that Bruce isn't dead, he's lost in time, so, there's going to be a storyline where others try to replace him, but, the whole time, there's a storyline going where he's trying to get back to modern-day. So, it's sorta like Knightsquest/Knightsend in that regard but it's gonna be better cause we're not gonna have stupid ass Azrael as Batman. It's going to be several different characters attempting to fill the role, but, we'll have our good old Bruce Wayne back by summer's end, end of year at latest, count on it. *END OF SPOILER* So, I suggest sticking with the Batman titles. I read just about everything and to me, they are the best books going nowadays. Servo

Batman - I like Dini but I can not stand Grant Morrison... I know he's hot schmidt with most folks but i can't stomach his work. Plus I think he's got a loose screw. if he's still with the title i won't be buying it.

In addition to the awesomeness that is about to occur in the Batman titles, here are a couple of other offerings that are coming out that I'm definitely going to be picking up.
Batman Confidential #26-28 : This is a three-part storyline that will be bringing back a character from the '60's TV show that has only appeared once before in the comics: KING TUT! Any fan of the classic show will remember this villain and in this storyline, he's returned after a lengthy hiatus and his evil-doing forces Bats and the Riddler to join forces against him. Will they be successful? Who knows! (Also, if you're a Batman fan and haven't checked out Batman Confidential yet, I highly suggest doing so. It's a different take on the Batman mythos that explores the more analytical, methodical, scientific side to Batman's crimefighting ways. Pretty much a nice comparison piece to the violent, physical, somewhat psychopathic take on the mythos that is presented in All-Star Batman and Robin, which I also enjoy.
Solomon Grundy mini-series : It's a frickin' Solomon Grundy mini-series! Do I really have to say anymore?
Green Lantern storyline : This whole Black Lantern storyline is going to be hot! And it's going to bring back some dead characters as evil Black Lanterns. You can't tell me that's not going to be sweet.
That's all for Servo's Comic Corner's suggestions for this week.

Batman - I like Dini but I can not stand Grant Morrison... I know he's hot schmidt with most folks but i can't stomach his work. Plus I think he's got a loose screw. if he's still with the title i won't be buying it. I like Morrison because he's actually using some of the Batman mythos from the 60's and 70's in today's stories. Stuff like the Club Of Heroes, which was really cool, but used once until he brought it back and made it an integral part of the Batman legend. Also in ish 663, The Clown At Midnight story, he analyzes how the Joker's mind works and goes back to explain how he's reinvented himself over the years every time he gets locked up, explaining why sometimes he's completely psychotic, other times campy, other times a criminal mastermind. Morrison won't be writing the Battle For The Cowl stuff. Tony Daniel is taking over that. Royal McGraw is doing some of it. Doug Moench is doing some of it. Chris Yost as well. So, the Batman stuff coming out in the coming months in gonna be good and Morrison free, so, I wouldn't write it off just yet. Servo

I'm a toal nerd.
BTW, the current Hellboy and BPRD series are incredible. They're always good, but these even moreso.

Got the new Hardcover volume 1 of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing stories and have read the first five chapters (issues). It's really great, and it's funny to me how obvious it is that Neil Gaiman was aping this series for the first few issues of Sandman.
BTW, what a great design the Swamp Thing has. Those panels of the Swamp Thing rooted to the ground with the rain filling up the crevaces of his face (eye sockects and what have you) are very striking.
-and I think from now I'll go for the original paperback releases of the further volumes. I've heard that following DC's schedule for graphic novel releases is fun only if you like waiting a year for each installment.

I like Moore's Swamp Thing, but I haven't really read them in any sort of order. I've been limited to the odd collections that the library has, so I'm sure I've skipped around a bit. Definitely good stuff, though.

I just picked up the first issue of the Solomon Grundy miniseries at the comic book store today. It's pretty cool so far, and it features Alan Scott helping Cyrus Gold rid himself of the Grundy Curse. The curse must be resolved before the Blackest Night, so this and the GL books will give me some decent reading until then.
But the Phantom Stranger is always cool. I don't know how many of you missed the pre-series one-shot that was on sale about a month ago, but I'm sure you can find it in the back issues if you look for it. The series looks promising, and Grundy's always been a favorite character of mine.

Ah yes, I was there when this Alan Moore guy took over writing chores for Swamp Thing (a decent if unspectacular title). I didn't know anything about the guy at the time, but man he blew the doors out. It was a "Holy Crap!" moment. I read Will Eisner’s Sand Serif story. It was interesting to see where Frank Miller drew inspiration for his adaptation. Though there was no fight with the Octopus (who in the strip wasn’t seen) we did get the mud flats, the story of the 2 as youngsters and that Sand was stealing something (Not the blood of Herakles though) – It was a great story and nice to see that Miller did have respect for some of the source material. I’m also reading a few of the golden age exploits of the heroine Miss Fury (notable because she was the first costumed heroine created by a woman) – I’ve added an overview of this at my blog, Adam Smasher’s if anyone is interested in reading about her (shameless plug, I know, but I could use some readers)

today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30846812/?gt1=43001archie andrews is getting married! i guess they have decided to let it die after 68 years. but who will he choose? betty? that bitch, veronica? jughead? when i was a kid a hundred years ago, that was the only comic book i ever read. i had hundreds of them. though i wanted to be like veronica with all the money and the daddy issues, i secretly yearned for archie to choose betty. or maybe jughead. i forget, exactly. riverdale will never be the same!

last year I returned to my old comic shop to buy the new Iron Man comic. I've since dumped Iron Man (too boring and depressing) but have suddenly got a hold lists again! I just added the new "Wolverine Weapon X" series to my holds list. It's very cool and wow, Logan is a violent little man, lots of blood and killing. On an aside: I find it absolutely asinine that Joe Q at marvel has taken smoking out of the comics because it's a bad influences. Yeah, right Joe, and the genocide, rape (Ms. Marvel was raped by her own son fer Christmas sake!) and this blood fest (where Logan no longer smokes, but has been drunk off his ass throughout)... that's a not a negative on the wee one's psyches at all. I also grabbed the first issue of Power Girl (Drawn by the woman who penciled Trace's comic book) - it seems decent enough. The final issues of the Battle for the Cowl (No surprise on who the new Batman will be. Still, No Bruce - No buying for me. PERIOD!) Supergirl #41 - Bad art, but great finish the the superwoman saga. And the new issue of Matt Fraction's X-Men. I haven't bought this title in years, but while there are some confusing bits (the cast has become so convoluted) he's a done a masterful job of making it relatively easy to get back into this series. I'm still debating on whether to commit to Blackest Night, or just wait for the trade paperbacks.

After reading volumes 1-5 of Paul Chadwick's Concrete I would just like to say that it is a wonderful, life-enriching series and that everyone should read it.
