Fox is weird, they completely mangle Firefly (shows out of order etc) and didn't give the brilliant Wonderfalls a snowballs chance in hell... but they stuck with Arrested Development despite low ratings? And yeah, Family Guy, I agree Af
With Joss I think it's not only Firefly but the several comic book movies that were talken out of his hands, most notably Wonder Woma. He's had a tough streak of late so I hope Dollhouse works out for him.

Yeah, it's a shame that the Wonder Woman thing isn't gonna work out. He'd seem like a natural for it, too.
I say that having next to no knowledge of the Wonder Woman character beyond her appearances in Infinite Crisis, some Justice League comics (though I've not read many o' them either), and occasional scattered crossovers.

He did end Buffy at a time that felt right for him but I think a lot of the cast were ready to move on anyway. I noticed he's been writing comic books that go under the name Season 8. After Firefly got canceled and Buffy ended he decided to put his full attention into Angel again after having left it to his deputies. I think it got canceled about halfway through the season but Whedon had an inkling and so started to set it up as the final season.

Another excellent episode with all the intrigue and mystery I love. Like last week it starts off slow but then builds and builds until I’m completely lost. At the end of an ep, I can’t wait for the next one.
Very interesting idea, your heroes are also you villain. You have Alpha, the agent and now that jerk within the organization adding more strange threads that need to be unraveled.
I feel sorry for the “dolls”, being used like that. I like the chemistry between Echo and her handler; making me care for the people in your story does a lot to keep me around.
A lot of familiar faces, some I can’t place (finally figured out where I saw the fat guy from last week. He was the one Bullseye killed with the paperclips in Daredevil)

Saw a bit of last episode. That bad guy was The Middleman!

Okay, the most recent episode did a lot for me mentally.
One of my weird hangups (that isn't the word I want, but I can't think of the right one) about the first episode was that it didn't feel like a Joss Whedon pilot. All of his piltos had a similar feeling to them, but the first one didn't. I knew in advance, though, that the first episode was created after the original first episode when Joss had a different idea about what would work to start it (the current second episode is what was originally going to be the first episode.)
Now, having seen the second episode: everything I expected from a Joss Whedon pilot was in the second episode. :-P A clearer idea of who the bad guys were, a suggestion of what'll be happening to the main character in the show, a roster-like introduction to all the main characters, and a reasonable amount of anti-male symbolism.
So, yeah. A good episode, plus now I don't feel confused about it being a Joss Whedon show anymore.

I like the chemistry between Echo and her handler; making me care for the people in your story does a lot to keep me around. I was disappointed that the trust they instilled between the two is instinctual for Echo rather than having her actually recognize him. It would be more interesting to me if she was able to actually build some kind of relationship with him each week, instead of "who are you?" every week.

Minor Spoilers Ahead...
The first episode had actually given me the impression that she recognized him. The whole "Are you ready for your treatment?" thing at least seemed to imply that she knew she had a very good reason for going with him.
In fact, it may still be the case. Echo was changed somehow by that water she drank. It kicked her out of her imprint a bit, and made her unfocussed. Her knowledge of her handler may have been "lost" if it was in the "wrong part" of the imprint.
*Shrug*

Yeah it comes off to me like she was either fighting this in some way, and/or the combination of other factors is contributing to her having glimpses of the truth. I certainly felt that in the last episode between the two, that there was some sense of recognition. Maybe it has some connection to Alpha and why he didn't hurt her and why he was different from the other dolls.

My theories are that all of these imprinted personalities aren't really ever deleted and there is a limit to the number of personalities that can be imprinted before an overload happens and all personalities come flooding back to the surface.
It would make sense that Alpha, the first doll would be the first to have this happen. Echo is the second that is starting to get spillover because as it was said in one of the eps "She is a popular choice."
As to why Alpha didn't hurt Echo, I have no theories yet accept that Alpha's original personality recognized her from before they were dolls. that would make sense to me story wise.
But who knows.

That's sound like a solid theory to me.
I'll have to wait until 2 am to see any new developments. Fox has been real slow lately on getting eps online. It used to be 12 to 1 am.

Didn't care for this one. The singer was annoying and the story wasn't compelling to me.
There wasn't much that added to the big picture, though we at least get that look between dolls that kind of hints that they are aware, and that was interesting.

I read a spoiler in EW that said Alpha is gonna turn out to be someone we've seen on the show before.
I don't think we've seen him yet though... or have we?

Someone from the show? Well, the two easiest candidates for that would either be the FBI agent or that mob guy he keeps pestering.
And I agree that this third episode didn't really do as much for me as the first two. This was a "monster of the week" episode, rather than a "mythology" episode (though the first two episodes were also MotWs while managing to maintain the Mythology episode cred for me. Hmm...) But yeah, this one didn't feel significant to the overarching story the way that the first two did.
