I thought the pilot and the third episode were pretty good. But I missed the other two episodes. I don't know, I'll keep tuning in because I think Dollhouse has potential (Buffy didn't get really good until mid season two) but I'm still disappointed that we didn't get a series called Faith the Vampire Slayer instead. And also being a Whedon joint, it means one shouldn't get too attached to any of the characters either. At any moment, they're liable to get killed off... R.I.P. Cordelia, Wesley, Doyle, Fred, Tara, Anya, Darla, Jenny and Joyce. I was totally expecting them to kill-off the pretty asian girl when she has being held hostage a couple weeks back. I'm glad I was wrong.

^ Those 2 pissed me off most of all!
And will we ever learn about Shepard's secret past? He must have been someone important in the Alliance.
4th ep was pretty good, I liked seeing those 2 actresses playing the same character, very clever though it ended up going nowhere (the new version didn't really help at all)

After a couple of okay eps, they finally get back on track with this latest one. I found it all very intriguing. The plot thickens ---
-Spoiler-
I knew the neighbor wasn't all she seemed, though I'm sure I wasn't the only one who figured that angle out

Good episode and it also was quite funny in places, something the show has missed so far. It felt a bit more Whedon-esque this week. And there's some nice developments too. Quite a few candidates for the insider who isn't Alpha.

did anyone else see the last episode where the FBI man finally tracked down Echo. I thought this was by far the best episode so far.
It also tweaked the story in a lot of different ways.
Most notably we found out there are different Dollhouses around the world. And here I believed Topher was the only guy that understood all the science behind the programming, chalk up lines like "Only two people in the world are smart enough to do that" to his ego I guess.
The other wrinkle is that someone from the Dollhouse communicated with the FBI man through Echo. Since I don't know who could have slipped something like that past Topher, I'm gonna guess Echo did it herself and just called it reprogramming for the FBI man's sake.
Did anyone else love the fight scene between Echo and the FBI ma? Good stuff!

^Yeah, that was the ep the previous 2 posts were about. As for reprograming... Echo could have done it or her handler could be an inside man, Topher's assistant that he kind of dismisses (making us not suspect her in the process), could have done it.
--- Current ep was whack. Interesting but whack. It might have given up too much of the mystery surrounding Echo and I found that part of the ep a bit, oh melodramatic. I dunno, I guess I thought there'd be a more clever twist and deeper involvement other than her wanting to save the monkeys.

Well, I enjoyed last night's episode, though I'm not convinced something like this'll really fix the various glitching.
This episode implied more than the others that there are meta-personalities that can't really be tampered with too heavily. Like Coraline's line in the first episode about blank slates.

Quality shows almost never get on the air and on the rare occasion they do they're usually canceled quickly. MST3k got lucky because they were the only original show they had that got any ratings at all. That gave them another year or two to develop an audience.
When my kids were small they wanted to hear the same story evey night. Most TV shows are like that, give them the same basic characters and plots and change the names around and the people will be happy. Make people have to think or pay attention, even a little, and you lose your potential audience.
Quality shows are a niche market. Cheesy is king.

(so don't read on if you haven't seen it but then why are you looking at this thread and so on and so on) Yeah, looks like that quote about Alpha being someone we knew didn't refer to a character but an actor who'd already been in a Whedon show! And how good was he at being a baddie?

He was phenomenal at it (though I'd personally have spoilerized that comment...still, I imagine most people readin' the thread'll only read it if they saw it.)
I hadn't heard that it was going to be cancelled. That's dissapointing. But certainly not surprising given that it's a Fox show in the Friday Night Death Slot(tm.)
