I don't know what it was called, but while visiting I caught this show on HBO about these 2 (I guess Australian) musicians. It was pretty hilarious - In the episode these guys broke up with the same woman, and do this song about crying that floored me. (They also did this video dressed as cardboard robots)
I'll have to find out what this was and see if I can check out season eps.

Thanks a bunch! I was cluless and was doing other stuff while it was on or I would have checked the listings. But I see this girl breakup with a guy and suddenly he wanders off and starts singing (and she's left standing there, with a WTH? expression).
It's fun to stumble upon something you no nothing about and receive an unexpected laugh. (I haven't had a TV in a year, or cable in ages - I'm in the dark about a lot of things on TV)

2nd the above. FOTC is a great show. You happened to catch the very first episode, btw.
Here's that "crying" song...

FOTC is one of the best shows on now. It is a hard show to describe. It is subtle, yet over the top. Very original. Easily one of my favorites.

The first two seasons of The Mighty Boosh.
I like it, but I don't know why?
Guess I will have to watch it again.

Twilight Zone - Once Upon A Time I watched it for my Silent Comedy thread. I guess it's not a popular one for T-Zone fans, but us Buster Keaton fans love it.... especially when he pulls out an old gag he did with Fatty Arbuckle (the thing with the pants). Even older, slower Buster is wonderful Buster.

Something called Pig Bomb on Discovery Channel.
Actually, I didn't watch it that closely. I was watching television from the deck of a house where I'm not allowed to smoke and it was what was on. Couldn't hear all of it except some occasional squealing and ominous music. It was about giant, wild boars, hunting them and human encounters with them. It officially has the worst name of any program I've ever heard of. Oh, and it was in high definition, so it really brought out the highlights of the various hogs.
Seems like Discovery is running out of ideas.

Try their album, brilliant and funny!

It wasn't until the Heroes thread resurfaced that I knew the new season had started. So I guess I'll check out Heroes and CSI for a few shows and see if I want to keep up with 'em. Life was cancelled (bummer) and I'm through with Bones. So that leaves The Dollhouse and Fringe as my primary shows.
Fringe Last year it was flawed, a minor X-Files clone with some annoyances -BUT-- the story was just compelling enough and Walter made me laugh out loud so that I kept coming back each week.
The premiere still showed some weaknesses (uh, gee, you think you might have a code or check anyone out who was ALONE WITH A SHAPE SHIFTER! Did that final scene shock anyone?) but overall it was strong, well told. Amped up the mystery by never revealing what was said at last years finale.
A couple nods to the X-Files - I can never spot the observers - Peter wasn't a smug smart ass this time out, have they ditched that (I hope so) - Liked the new gal - Walter's still a riot.

Watched a tape of the new show "Flash Forward". I was watching other stuff when I taped it. Everyone on Earth blacks out for two minutes and has visions of six months or so in the future. A few people were caught on surveillance cameras to be still awake. Looks like it could be interesting if the reason for all this doesn't turn out to be lame.

The preimere of CSI It might not be the show it used to be, but they do enough to keep me coming back for more. Good season opener.

Season opener of The Mentalist. Jane did a neat trick using a random stranger. The opening scene ( a murder in a department store ) was cute. Almost a "I'm Chief Inspector Tiger. No one is allowed to leave the room" clone, minus the repeated deaths.

The first two seasons of The Mighty Boosh. I like it, but I don't know why? Guess I will have to watch it again. Been rewatching The Boosh recently too. I love the first two series, but I didn't like the third series much. I'm hoping that they'll return to form with the fourth series but I'm skeptic.

Patty Duke Show Shout Factory has released the first season on DVD and it showed up in my mail today.
This is never going to make it on top 10 greatest show lists, but it was a charming, enjoyable time filler that I enjoyed and I'm happy to have the discs. Good news, it looks like these are all UNCUT! Which is something that has been a plague for classic TV collectors.
There's one extra, an interview with most of the cast (The actress who played the mother died in 06) - William Shallert (Gunslinger) looks pretty good for an 87 year old man.
Don Scardino, the city slicker in MST3Ks Squirm, has a small part in one ep. I hardly recognized him, he was so young (his ep aired in 1964)
Great job Shout, and I hope we get the other 2 seasons (uncut) and here's hoping you can acquire the rights to the unaired pilot ep for one of those releases.
