...that was wrong what the Packers did to Favre What the Packers did to Favre?!?!? Give me a break. He's held that team hostage over the years with his on-again off-again retirements. Same thing again this year, but he put them in a no-win situation. He's been one of the most whining, selfish players over the years. That's now been exposed and he get a pass?

That's now been exposed and he get a pass? ...well I don't know all the specifics...all I know is for 10-20 years that team was in the toilet...Favre wins a super bowl and gets them to another I think and basically makes them respectable again...I know he didn't do it single-handedly but come on he was a MAJOR part of it...and they won't let him start...let's be honest in all likelihood this is his last season, this is football not baseball and it's not like they got Peyton Manning waiting in the wings Rodgers will NOT be as good as Favre even an old Favre...plus he got them to the conference championship last year...and before you say it yes he had a crappy game but that doesn't negate the season he had...I don't know the stats but the only stat that matters is 13-3(wasn't it?)

The two years before that, the Packers were not so good. Favre was throwing way more interceptions than touchdowns and the worst part, at least from some perspectives, was that they couldn't beat the Bears. To be honest, the last four years or so, Brett Favre had been waffling about retiring, saying that his body couldn't take it. And last year, one of the games the Packers lost at Soldier Field(I was there)it was really cold and Favre said he couldn't handle the cold anymore. That's not good news if you play in the Midwest. And to be really fair, the better teams are in the AFC. If you don't believe me, the Bears got to the Super Bowl two years ago with Rex Grossman as their QB.

tell me about it I'm Texan fan they have played in one of the toughest division's since the team's inception
as far as Favre goes it just doesn't seem right to me I don't care how horrible he might be he should retire a Packer you know what I mean

As a die hard Packer fan(hell, I named my dog Brett, after him)I think that it could have been handled much better than it was. However nobody plays football forever and eventually the day would have come when the Packers wouldn't have had him. Up until the trade, I had hoped both sides could have worked something out, but it wasn't meant to be.

Well...my team (The Browns) blew it in the Preseason and they won't do any better this year.
I might as well take the Browns to the Super Bowl.

"I might as well take the Browns to the Super Bowl. "
I wonder if people that DIDN'T see "Larry the Health Inspector" get that joke?

Ummm... Broadsword. It didn't happen today.
My teams were 50/50. Panthers looked lethargic against the Vikes in their loss. Eagles defense looked unbeatable versus the Steelers as the Eagles managed to win without Brian Westbrook.

So I get home from work a little while ago, and I asked my dad how bad did the Patriots beat the Dolphins. His response? "Actually, the Dolphins won."
At first I thought he was kidding, but nope, the 'phins did pull out a win. Good job for them!

this is why the NFL is the most interesting pro league in America at least...I knew the Patriots would eventually suffer from a Brady hang over, but wow that was some hardcore collapsing...I gotta say my early team to watch is the Eagles, I'd say they have a good chance for a Super Bowl bid but they got the Giants to contend with...it might be wishful thinking but my surprise prediction is that the Cowboys will collapse...eventually...it might be in the NFC championship game but I think they will collapse...Bills are also off to a surprising start
The NFC east looks like the strongest division...all four teams look legit
Weakest division probably AFC west
my poor Texans...Schaub is looking like a bust...but don't let the stats fool you he had a decent game today except for the first quarter and that one INT late in the game
of course all this is very tentative it being week 3 and all

Uh, well, life after Brady is painful. Still, I have to give credit to the Dolphins for taking it to us, that was nothing short of a major beatdown. Perhaps I'll recap the picks I didn't make here the past two weeks, but clearly I had the Pats yesterday. On the plus side, I took the Jags over the Colts, on the downside, I took MN over the Colts last week.

Mr. Atari and I can now commiserate, his team lost to the Chiefs, but at least it was a hell of a lot closer than the Dolphin demolition of the Patriots. So at least he has that.
