Kansas State beat Texas A&M on the road 44-30, but they let A&M get over 500 yards on offense. But a win is a win, & the Wildcats are now 4-2. Hopefully the Cats can beat Colorado next week in Bolder.

A&M couldn't rack up 500 yards playing against eleven traffic cones.

A&M couldn't rack up 500 yards playing against eleven traffic cones. Yeah, but they were playing K-State's defense. A 5th grade football team could put up 400 yards on the Wildcats. A&M had 419 yards passing & 125 yards on the ground. K-State has to win games with their offense.

Well, at the end of the day there's only 4 undefeated BCS teams left. Bama, Texas, OK State and Penn State.
Who's the new number one?
I think you know who I'm voting for.............................ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

"sigh" still # 2, still getting no respect. You know, yeah, we're not beating the snot out of everyone that we play, but, we also play in the SEC and have only trailed for 1:35 seconds.................ALL FRICKIN' YEAR!!!!!
But, that's alright. This is starting to remind me a whole lot of 1992. That year, we very sneakily beat everyone we played, usually by a touchdown or so, beat Florida for the SEC Championship and were supposed to get murdered by the number one team in the nation, Miami. Well, that one turned out 34-13 Bama.
I see a few similarities between this season and that one. An underrated Bama team, stuck at number two, behind a flashy number one team (92: Miami, 08: Texas) who has a Heisman trophy winner/candidate (92: Miami's Gino Torretta, 08: Texas' Colt McCoy) while we get by with a great defense.
That's alright though. I'd rather be number 2. Gives you a better feeling of satisfaction when you finally are number 1!
But, one game at a time. It's Tennessee next, in Knoxville and, even though Tennessee is pretty horrific this year, it's one of our bigger rivalry games so I know it'll be a good one. National broadcast on ESPN Saturday night, so, if you haven't seen the Tide play this year, check them out!
And, Roll Tide!

Alabama is getting tons of respect. How can you say #2 is no respect?
I think they're being punished a bit for the middling effort against Kentucky, but sheesh, complaining about no respect at 2 is sour grapes.

Yeah, I guess we're getting respect. If respect is all the talking heads talking about how we could have lost all those games and instead of mentioning that we've only been losing for 1:35 this whole season, they point out how we've "lost the second half" of the past three games we've played.
I guess I just see it because I read every article about my team. Look closely though. You'll see the backhanded remarks.

You're deeper into it than I am, then. I've only heard glowing things about Alabama, especially since they are the cream of the SEC this year.
Probably something we can agree on though--I am getting FLAPSJACKING SICK of hearing about Ohio State. Yay, they had a good game against an overachieving MSU team. . .but has the national media learned NOTHING over the last few years hyping the Buckeyes??

Yeah, a lot of people have had good things to say about us, but, usually when I hear that comment that we're the tops of the SEC, it's generally followed by "but, the SEC this year seems down as a whole". Just little cheap shots like that really irk me. And, oh yeah, I do agree with you that OSU is getting way more attention than they've earned. Now, if they beat Penn State this week, then, yeah, throw them back in the title talk cause if they beat Joe Pa.'s crew this year, they'll have earned a few accolades but so far, you're right, all they've done is hand a rebuilding MSU squad its head and get beat to death by a good, but not great USC squad (and this is coming from me, a USC fan). I just think that it's that time of year where the media starts leeching onto their favs, which this year happens to be Texas. And, yeah, they've beat some good teams, but, the media has declined to talk about how porous their defense has been. And I'm telling you, if they do make it to the championship game and have to play an SEC squad, they're gonna be in trouble for that simple reason. Their defense is just not as good as their offense and when you play an SEC team, you gotta play D. I can pretty much bet you any amount of money there's no way they'd score 40+ points on my Bama squad. Not to say they couldn't win against them, but, if they allowed us to score 30+ like they did Oklahoma, they might as well pack up and go home.
But, hopefully we'll get to see. I'm just hoping my Tide wins out and gets a shot to prove it against them or I'd really like to see us play Penn State considering this year would be the 30th anniversary of the now classic "Goal Line Stand" game.
Roll Tide!

Full disclosure: I am a Texas student (six credit hours until graduation whoo hoo).
I agree with you that Texas is getting way too hyped. . .I hate overhyping of any team, including (especially) my (soon-to-be) alma matter. Texas has holes, especially in the secondary, that their offense has been able to cover for. That was clear in the second half of the Mizzou game.
I also generally believe good D's beat good O's. . .I'm one of the rare few that would love to see a 9-6 game with tons of defensive stops and rock-shattering hits. I played d-line in Hockey, so maybe it just appeals to my character.
HOWEVER. . .I think Texas would beat 'Bama right now because 'Bama has a habit of wilting in the second half and Texas comes alive in the second half.
Is the SEC having a down year compared to the Big 12? Yeah, but so what? the SEC remains the premiere conference in College Football. It'll take more than one good year by one other conference to knock the SEC off of that perch. . .ask the Pac-10, they've been trying for years.
(Big 10 need not apply. . .I grew up in Big 10 country and I cannot believe the gar-bazh they've fielded the last several years. . .Ohio State has shown just how overrated that conference is).
That should stir the pot.
And just to jab at '69: HOOK 'EM.

As for 'Bama's validity at 1, I cannot speak, but I can say this. . .Texas didn't belong there. That was clear after the Oklahoma State game.
