i used to love adult swim. i was a big fan of aqua teen hunger force, squidbillies, the brak show, robot chicken and sealab. there for awhile i watched quite a bit of it. but they kept changing the schedule around and adding more 15 minute shows - most of which i didn't like, so i stopped trying to figure out when the shows i liked were on. i have the first season of squidbilies on dvd and i wouldn't mind owning the first few seasons of ATHF, but i think the show has lost its edge. maybe its me, but it now seems to try too hard. same for squidbillies.
i loved dumber dolls. let's commence to jigglin'! i love that expression on jiggle billy's face when harry makes him feel so terrible about his life - the way he goes from that happy hillbilly expression to the bags under the eyes, looking as if he is about to cry. the way he says, 'god i'm depressed' (or something to that effect, it's been a while since i've seen it) just cracked me up.

Anyone have a favorite ATHF moment? Mine has got to be Dumber Dolls. "You know, Harry, just being around you kinda makes me want to die." Anything involving the Plutonians. I like to randomly shout, "IT'S A FAR-GATE!" in my best Andy Merrill voice.

Most of their shows nowadays are crap. King of the Hill re-runs? Tim and Eric? Xavier? Ick.
Now, Look Around You. THAT'S a good show.

I am a devoted Venture Bros. fan. The rest of Adult Swim I can do without.
Though it was because of AS that I started to really get into Futurama. Also, Robot Chicken is usually pretty solid. Everything else...meh.

I haven't watched the channel in a while, so I don't know what's still on it, but - Home Movies is my favorite animated show ever. Have the whole series on DVD. I also love The Venture Brothers, I have the first two seasons of that on DVD, too. I caught bits and pieces of Sealab and Harvey Birdman and thought they were pretty funny. Robot Chicken can have it's moments. I like Futurama. There was one with two detectives that I thought had some funny moments, but I can't remember the name of it.
I could never get into Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Squidbillies. And as much as I love Home Movies, I could never watch Metalllllllwhateveralypse.

It's back to Mission Hill again. I've noticed they usually rotate out Mission Hill, The Oblongs, Home Movies, and S&H. I swear, Adult Swim's programming department is maniac/depressive. I am devoted to Robot Chicken-even though this season has had more duds than usual, there's been enough amazing sketches for me to still love it. The "Arkum Asylum" sketch alone was worth a renewed season. It's my favorite show after MST. I really enjoyed Moral Orel but I get why it couldn't last. Maybe it's the metalhead in me, but I like Metalocalypse. I was slow to get hooked on ATHF, but once I spent time with it I must say it's gotten addictive. I had to get used to Tim and Eric too, but it is definitely way out there. Oddly enough, I am not as fond of the Venture Bros as everyone else-I appreciate the references and all and it's still better than 90% of the shows on tv right now. Look Around You is marvelous. And of course I still love SGC2C and The Brak Show. Everyone should be.

I don't see how the Cartoon Network can expect to keep viewers when they keep changing their line up every 30 seconds. Their website(s) don't help, either. More of a confused mess.

For a while, the Adult Swim website showed commercials for The Mighty Boosh during streaming video breaks. It looked silly and too far out, but I've watched what episodes are available on Adult Swim's videos and I actually like what I saw so far.

I'M LOVING THE MIGHTY BOOSH! They finished airing the third series last night, and the first series starts airing next week (AS liked the thrid series best, so they decided to air them out of order). The first series comes out on DVD in the US in a few months. Apparently they tour as a comedy/music act in the UK, will be producing another series next year, and the BBC is interested in producing a movie. Oh, and since this is an AS thread: my all-time favorite Adult Swim shows are Space Ghost C2C (which I have watched since '94 when I was a wee tot), Home Movies, The Venture Bros., Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, FLCL, and Eureka Seven... most of which I have on DVD. Shows I fell out of love with but loved in high school: ATHF, Sealab, and Family Guy. What can I say, they tickled me a few years ago but now not so much.

I think what I love about Adult Swim is the sheer randomness of it all. I will always have the staple shows to keep me interested (Robot Chicken, Family Guy, Metalocalypse, ATHF, Venture Bros), but there's always some kooky new show making its way up the ranks, and while quite a few of them don't go anywhere (Assy McGee - thank God), it's still kinda fun to watch.
Right now I love Tim and Eric. But I also loved Tom Goes to the Mayor too, so go figure. I love the "crappy public access show" feel to it, and combine that with John C. Reilly constantly showing up makes for some fun mindless entertainment.
Super Jail is another one I like, and I love Shin Chan, though I haven't seen it in a while.
Older ones definitely include Space Ghost and Sealab 2021. And throw in Super Milk Chan too because I found it delightfully random at the time. ;D

There was one that had a kind of Conan the Barbarian feel to it, but I forget what it was called (don't feel like looking it up, as I mentioned, their website is almost as bad as their channel as far as being confusing). I saw only a couple of episodes, but it seemed funny.

No, it was a cartoon, and definitely on Cartoon Network. I just got Season 3 of Venture Brothers. Pretty good, and they're working on Season 4 so that should be something to look forward to. (If they haven't started showing them yet, I'll have to look up if they have a schedule for that yet).
