Alright, who watched either of these awesome shows? I thought it might be economical to put them both in the same thread (mistake?). They were both short lived ABC programs from the 80s (so they've got that in common). Growing up, these were two I never missed, and was upset when they were pulled. I fell they're both ahead of their time, in different ways.

Love Sledge Hammer!. Love it. Best sitcom of the '80s, and way ahead of its time.
I remember watching it every week with my brother. It was the same year we got our first VHS, so we had most of the episodes on tape for years. When the DVDs came out, I was thrilled that they took out the laugh track.
David Rasche has always been one of my favorite actors, so I loved seeing him in Burn After Reading last year. Great Eastwood impression.

Max Headroom would be a good show for the Sci-Fi Channel to air. IF they were a good channel and had money to actually air decent shows.

I saw enough of both to know I liked them, but couldn't watch regularly to say I was ever a fan. I'd like to revisit them sometime. Love Sledge Hammer! ... When the DVDs came out, I was thrilled that they took out the laugh track. Why can't they do this more with other shows, like the first season of Sports Night?

Been watching a lot of Max Headroom lately (courtesy of the Digital Archive Project). I keep wondering how such a show could have come about in the 1980s? So far ahead of its time it's quite scary.

Both seasons of Sledge Hammer! are available on DVD, and very soon our friends at the Shout Factory are releasing Max Headroom. Rumor has it that the original feature "20 Minutes into the Future" will be included, which was remade and Americanized as the pilot episode.
Twenty Minutes into the Future is a great hour-long movie. It makes the ABC show pale in comparison, even if I am a huge fan of both.

I just started watching the dvds of Sledge Hammer from Netflix. I was a fan back in the day. There are a few episodes that have the producer doing a commentary track. He's pretty funny and full of information.
"HAMMER!"
