Well, I decided to wait a couple of games before putting Mauer in and sure enough, he bats something like .700 in that span. The first game I get him in my lineup he goes 0-4! That kind of stuff happens to me all the time. I just picked up Alberto Callaspo (KC Royals) & he is hitting a little bit under .400 & had a 9 game hitting streak going. Well I started him & he went 0-5 & grounded into a double play with the bases loaded.

Yep. On Tuesday, I had Tiexera and Figgins on the bench. Tiexeira hit 2 home runs and Figgins had a bunch of RBIs and SBs. So for Wednesday, I put them in and benched DeRosa and Pena. Both of those guys hit home runs on Wednesday. I also hesitated to put the oft-injured Ramirez back in at 3B, and of course, he had a home run.
That's 5 home runs and about 15 RBIs I've missed in the last 2 days because I started the wrong players.
Too much tinkering, I think.

Well now I'm really in trouble.
Not only are my best 2 starting pitchers on the DL, but my only real power hitter just got himself suspended for 50 games. Nice work, Manny.

You had a nice comeback against me this week, though, and you didn't even need Manny I know I need to tweak a few things, but I haven't decided on what yet. We'll see how this week starts out.

Yeah, we had a lot of close calls there. I think 5 of the categories came down to one point.
Since there's only 6 teams, and we'll all be in the playoffs, the important thing will be having the right lineup come September. Everything until then is just for fun.

I had a pretty good day Monday, there were only 2 MLB games that were played. I had 3 position players (Víctor Martínez, Ryan Braun, & Prince Fielder) that were playing. The stats for all 3 combined was:
.667(batting avg.), 8 runs, 3 HRs, & 15 RBIs
^That is a good way to start off the week for fantasy baseball.

I got used to Roy Halladay pretty much carrying my team in the wins catagory, but he's going to be on the DL for a couple of weeks, so that's going to cause a little reshuffle (don't be gone any longer than that, Roy).
Edinson Volquez was just taking too long to get healthy, and I'm not sure the hype will be worth it if he ever does get back. So he's gone - he was just taking up a valuable roster spot. Hopefully Jon Lester and my recent pickup Adam Wainwright can give me a little boost in that category.
And yeah, that's a hot start to the week, Waluigi.

Wow, I lost track of time and the next thing you know - I'm out of the playoffs! Well, I'm fighting for fifth, but the chance of top glory is gone. I totally neglected my team the last couple of months, which it too bad because I had fun when I was paying attention.
I guess I'll have a little better idea of what to expect next year, though. Now I'll just use the entire offseason to ponder my errors.

I wish I could ignore it. Instead, I'm tweaking my roster every night. And whoever I put on the bench hits 2 home runs (I'm looking at you, Raul Ibanez), and whoever I replace them with goes 0-4 (Thank you, Troy Tulowitzki). Every move I make turns out to be the wrong one.
Like last night, when I sat Tulo because no one hits home runs in San Francisco's park against Barry Zito. Until he did. Instead, I started Manny Ramirez, who went 0-for-5 last night--against the Pirates(!)-- and then didn't even play today. GRRRR!!!

I had fun for playing fantasy for the first time. Who won, by the way?

Are we going to do this again this year?

I'm in if someone sets it up. I say this with hesitation because this thing will consume your life. Fiddling with it every day starts to wear you down.

I really enjoy this. I think it would be more fun if we had more people this year, though. Maybe merge with another yahoo group if we only have 6 again.
