I disliked the first year and hated all its episodes about...Q His episodes aren't all great, but he was one of the better characters in my opinion. Not to mention, he was a logical expansion of the title character in one of my favorite TOS episodes, "The Squire of Gothos."

If I were to pick a favorite episode, I think my choice would be "The Drumhead" from The Next Generation where an investigation for a saboteur mutates into a McCarthyistic witch hunt for Romulan sympathizers.

I don't know if any of you remember from my first few years here, but I used to be a really huge Star Trek fan. Mostly Voyager, but I really enjoyed all of the series. I even used to tape Enterprise off of the TV, back when television used to be free and of extremely poor quality (those were the days). I even sold off my Voyager collection for some spare scratch last year. My inner Trekkie has been burbling and simmering for a few weeks now, and I'll be starting in on the Original Series soon. Now, I've been wanting to watch DS9 again for some time (it's been far too long). I've been wondering though, how would I go about watching that again? I don't want to shell out the cash for the boxed set, especially if it's still my least favorite series. Is there a cable network that broadcasts it, or would I have to try the crapshoot at the library to see if they have it? I don't have Netflix, nor do I really want it, and there's no video rental places anywhere near me (at least an hour away).
Any advice?

Amazon has "Video on Demand", which I believe is downloads. Downloadable movies is something I've been looking to try to invest in for a while, especially considering that DVDs are going to ultimately be phased out in favor of Blu-Rays. Problem is that you need a media player that will play the movies you download as well as a drive to hold the movies you download.
My local library still has VHS tapes of Star Trek: The Original Series. Perhaps you should check your library.

The other night I saw that it was on WGN America about 1:00 am, and I think SciFi still shows it too.

I believe SciFi (SyFy?) has the rights to Deep Space Nine at the moment, along with Next Gen, Voyager, and Enterprise. I'm not sure how frequently they show it though, I'd have to look into it.
But other than your non-wanted NetFlix, I can't really think of anything else.
I remember the good old days when Spike used to have an afternoon block of TNG, DS9, and Voyager. That was fun. They really milked their Trek license when they weren't milking their CSI license.

The last time I watched DS9 is when it was still on Spike. I didn't even realize they had lost the license to it. For that matter, what the Hell is on Spike any more?
Friggin' SciFi... it always comes back to the USA network screwing with shows I like. They could make a whole network that showed nothing but Star Trek, and it would fill up the programming. SciFi's always been a crapshoot. Damn.
Who has the NextGen license?
Oh, and I have TOS on DVD still, I'm just waiting for my brother in law to give me back the first season. I'm so glad I held off on buying the individual DVDs on that one. The boxed sets are so much more manageable.

Who has the NextGen license? I believe SciFi has all of them except the original series. I flicked through their programing for the day a few weeks ago and they had one episode of Enterprise on and two or three episodes of TNG, so I think they might be favoring TNG on their schedule.
