To mods: if this is in the wrong place please move this thread.
You have all probably the heard the latest craze that's charmed thousands of teenagers across nations. I'm talking about Twilight, the novels in which an average teenage girl named Bella Swan moves to Forks, Washington and falls in love with a guy named Edward Cullen, a vampire who sparkles in sunlight. Oh, yeah and there's this werewolf named Jacob that gets thrown into the story later too.
Now, that I have explained the basic plot line to those who don't what Twilight is all about, I have an idea. Why, don't we MST the original twilight novels!! It would be a fun idea!!
Edit: If anyone has (or knows anyone) with the Twilight novels, please post here. (this is so that anyone who has joined this group MSTing can refer back to the novel at any given time. I know that I could borrow the novels from my local library, but I need to have the novels available to me and the other members of this group Msting for an indeterminate length of time. If you could help me with this that would be great. Thank you)
PM me if you want to join in on the MSTing

My friend's wife just finished the latest novel and has been talking them up for weeks, and you know how it is: it's your friend's wife so can't just laugh and roll your eyes. From what I've heard (which is entirely more than I care to), it's basically vampire romance. That's not a metaphor, it's literally a romance novel with vampires. That alone inspires some great laughs. Sorry, but as much as I'd love to help, I'd actually have to READ the novels to riff them. I've wrecked too many vehicles (motorized and non, various amounts of wheels) to purposely inflict that much damage on my mind and not expect some type of negative effects.

I made it through the first three, just to see what the kids I've been teaching are reading. The fourth? There is no way on this earth that I could do it. It's misogynistic at best and embracing of abusive relationships at worst, with HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE WRITING to boot. I don't even think I'll be able to watch the Rifftrax because ughhhhhh. Seriously, a piece of me dies inside whenever an otherwise intelligent person refers to Twilight in a non-snarky manner. Also, if you still need the books for riffing purposes, I'd check out www.bookmooch.com - they have everything I've ever looked for.

I have no interest in teen angst.
Out of curiosity, those of you who like the books, what is your age?

Ah, but then I'd have to read those pieces of crap.
And sparkling vampires are an element of that fiction that makes me very sad. Vampires don't f***ing sparkle.

I have no interest in teen angst. Out of curiosity, those of you who like the books, what is your age? I work with two women who are obsessed with them. One is in her 40's, the other is in her 60's. They just about murdered me when I commented "I haven't read them, but I heard they sucked."

I tell ya, I'm glad I got me a job with that federal agency. We're doing good work to protect America from those damn Commie Pinko Vampires!

How old are they emotionally? Emotionally old enough to double team and kick my ass, that's all that matters. Yes, I'm afraid of old people.

Well, fighting old people is a lose-lose situation. If you fight them, you get criticized for beating on an old person, but if you get beat, you're that guy who got beat up by an old person.
