www.newschannel5.com/Global/story.asp?S=10643962This is breaking news and there isn't much info, but they found him and a woman shot to death in Nashville. I was trying to find my old Titan friends but the official board is gone and I've been unable to locate them elsewhere. This is shocking news, he was beloved in Nashville.

he was beloved here in Houston, too, especially among those who followed him after the Oilers fled town the sports forum I post on is going a million miles an hour with updates and speculation, and I think I've got to quit reading it until there's actual confirmation. RIP, Air McNair.

Yeah some of the blog comments I've seen are terrible, because their's reports this was murder/suicide and the relationship with the woman.... I don't know all the details yet, but still, 2 human beings are dead, show some compassion people.
I've never bee to Houston, never been to Baltimore (where he played his final season). But Nashville has a kind of small town feel to it, it's a very close community. Eddie George spoke about that yesterday. You'd see the players in town all the time. George and Mcnair were great to fans, at training camp they'd sign to the very last. There'd be hundered of people, some of them could be loud and rude, but they were always nice to us, never complianed or ran off and made sure everyone got an autograph (and this after a hot day of practicing)
The players - and the fans who made me feel so wlecome in my new home and became my friends, will always hold a special place in my memory and heart.
R.I.P Steve.

I'm guessing the young lady found dead with him had murdered him then killed herself. Sounds like a love triangle gone bad.

Unfortunately, it does look like a murder/suicide situation...I wish that the media would show some compassion because there are dead people. McNair was a great player and was by all accounts a good person. I wish it hadn't happened but it did. RIP Steve

Sad news. I wasn't a fan, per se, but I liked watching him when I got a chance to see him play. I do remember him coming out of Alcorn State and the push for him to win the Heisman, though, which would have been very cool.
Rest well, sir.
