YEAH! And especially if you're not going to do a live show in Denver. Which it appears you aren't. Which means I have to drive to Texas to see you guys. Which it appears I won't.
Ah, CT, why must you tease me so? You're like a beautiful women that I can see, but I can't touch. Except because there are no more DVDs, I can't even see, either.

MST3KInfo has a link to a new podcast where one Mr. Frank Conniff states that CT will be doing another DVD very soon. And that they will continue to put out DVD's in the future.
He does also say that the live shows are amazing, and that's really where their heart is - to paraphrase said Titan.

Having seen the Rifftrax Live show at a theater, I can understand that. I just personally hope the Titans don't stop putting out DVD's. Or perhaps they could do a live show that could be broadcast in theaters all over the country? Just a thought.

Mr. Atari you gotta move to a real city, with theater and arts and major league sports teams and such (not like those silly Broncos) ;D
I'm teasing o' course and am surprised they haven't done Denver, maybe one day.
Glad to hear news of a new DVD.

Glad to hear news of a new DVD. Well, they've only hit 14 cities so far, so the surprising part is that they're already doubling back on Chicago & St. Louis. They have been sticking to large metro-areas, so unless their new agents change that strategy, I'd expect Denver to be in one of the next two (or maybe three) mini-tours.

I can understand where Frank is coming from because there's an immediate feedback with the live shows that you won't get from pre-recorded media. Does me no good though, but I'm getting tired of saying it.

I don't think I played with a single musician when I was in bands that didn't enjoy playing live more than recording. The live show and writing the riffs is most likely the fun part for them. Recording the DVD's is probably more often "work". Btw, while the podcast is mostly about bad movies - which I really enjoyed - Frank does provide some insight on how they assigned riffs and offers his viewpoint on how each MST3K episode was put together. I had never heard that it was normally Frank, Mary-Jo, or Paul who actually went through the script and parceled out the lines to each of the riffers.

I thought the Frank interview was really good too. I always enjoy hearing real movie buffs discuss their passion. I did note that the interview was a few months old though. It was probably done before Joel announced that CT was taking a DVD making hiatus. I don't know what that means but I just thought I'd mention it.

It's gotta be just like being in a band. I don't think I played with a single musician when I was in bands that didn't enjoy playing live more than recording. Ha, I was the opposite, live was fun but tedious and I got sick of playing the same songs over and over. I loved the studio, I was always writing so once I had new songs I was like a mad scientist chomping at the bit to get to his experiments. Once I was done, though, I never wanted to hear or play the damn thing again. Touring was tiring, studio work (all those lovely tracks to play with) was were the fun was at for me. My bro was the opposite "Let get a gig!" was his mantra. Sorry for side tracking but that comment hit me where I live.

I always enjoyed the studio more than playing live. Which usually led to some tension in the band, since I would clash with the rest of the band on that front. I totally agree on the "sick of playing the same songs over and over" comment. It annoyed me whenever we did a show and didn't have at least one new song in the set. But there is something pretty awesome about performing something you helped create and having people cheer. I can imagine doing it in front of a mostly full theater of rabid fans would be quite a rush.

Two reports from Dragon Con so far. One says release in Fall one says release before Christmas.

I'm almost caught up on my CT collection - I only need Wasp Woman to complete it - so this break hasn't been such a big deal for me. However, now that I'm employed again, I'm making my "pat on the back for finally getting a job" present TWW, so now I will join in these cries to the CT crew to start churning out DVDs again! It doesn't even have to be any of the movies they've done for the live shows (though that would be nice, considering the great raves fans have given them). Personally, I thought they were on a roll after their treatments FCoF and BotV, so their decision to put releases of DVDs on hold was ill-timed.
